    CamelBak H.A.W.G NV Review.

I was lucky enough to receive a new CamelBak at the OBT B’day ride to replace my cheap imitation that was ripped to shreds. I only received it recently and used it for my next ride which was some single track at Clarence. I had to carry additional fuel as it was going to be a long loop and was worried as to whether or not the CamelBak could swallow the 3L of water plus the 3L fuel bladder and not pop the zipper. Both of these were in separate compartments which made it easy to accommodate and alleviated zipper popping. Just as well as the fuel bladder had a slight leak around the filler neck area. This Camelbak has pockets and sections everywhere!
I also included my first aid kit and bandages in another section, 2 way radio, trail snacks, bread roll, spot tracker and phone in the top section, a container of brownies in a side pocket, car keys and my pocket knife in the other side.
Filling the H2O was easy as the bladder has a large mouth and twist lock so no chance of leaks.
Out on the trail the weight is carried evenly over your back and even with all that gear onboard shoulder or back pain was not an issue. The well padded shoulder straps and love handle straps are made with comfort in mind.
This CamelBak would be the only rehydration backpack you would need for all of your trail blazing adventures, long or short.
Likes– carrying capacity, comfort, easy to fill water up
    Dislikes-…..um…not available in KTM orange!

Great report Galey , I’ve been looking at getting a Kriega backpack the same size as the HAWG but didn’t actually consider a HAWG ! I will now ;)

I wonder how much that all weighed? 10kg? Wow you’d have to feel that in the singles. Excellent review. I’ve had a number of camelback clones over the years until I bought a real one and the quality is definitely there.

    Great report Galey! ;)

The only problem that i have is that when it is full of all that gear it is probably bigger than me!

    Great report!
I bought one a couple of months ago and haven’t gone near to filling it up as much as yourself. Good to know it still cumfie with all that weight.
I agree about the worst part, No Kato colours, but I got it cover in mud a few weeks ago and a light gurney came u good as new!!!!
