Hi
my XR250R has broken the frame just behind the right hand footpeg. There is a dodgy weld there from a previous owner and it has cracked all the way around the tubing. I can open the gap up just by pushing down on the footpeg
Obviously I’m going to pull the bike apart and fix this, just wondering if anyone here had any helpful comments, tips or advice
cheers
Roy
August 3, 2011 at 8:27 pm #206111Roy, I think Bollocks had his old XR break in the same place. I know it got fixed but for the life of me I cant remember what they did. Hopefully Bol might stick his head in here.
August 3, 2011 at 8:33 pm #206117Krustys was fixed at a welder in Penrith. Roy I think any good engineering shop / good welder will do a good job

Without knowing exactly where the break is, you may be able to shove a bit of roundbar inside the tube and leave a gap when you reweld it so that you weld to the round bar as well for added strength.

Odds are pretty good I`d say
Jeffro is on the money, he knows his welding (that`s his career)

Good Luck with the repair Roy
