September 15, 2011 at 3:42 pm #208939That is a good price Glenn , have a chat with Steve from Adventure Moto before you buy and see what deals he can give you as an old bull
September 16, 2011 at 12:01 am #208956Thanks Nick,
I checked out Steve’s website the other day and he has them listed on special for $219.00 when normally RRP is $269.00. I still thought that was a pretty good deal until my son suggested the pilot shop. However, still worth a call to Steve on monday to find out if he can help out with a good price for an Old Bull. Thanks
September 18, 2011 at 11:03 pm #208940In readiness for the Cameron’s ride, one thing on my list is a spare set of AAA batteries for my spot tracker. I have never replaced the batteries before and on the unit it says to use Lithium ones. Will it not work on garden variety Duracel Gold and Black ones or do I have to bend over that little bit further ?
Thanks Gaz
September 18, 2011 at 11:07 pm #209144When it comes to Spot batteries I would bend as far as they tell you too mate.

October 9, 2011 at 6:33 pm #210273i believe lithium batteries are reccommended for their better staying power in cold conditions.
thats the reason given on my old GoPro camera anyway.
im gonna bite the bullet and get one.
in last 2 months ive seen a broken femur, a separated pelvis and a smashed thumb on rides down here
the mate with the busted leg had an EPIRB and it was needed as we were in the middle of nowhere. he nearly bled out internally while waiting for the chopper.
in the other 2 incidences we had mobile coverage, luckily.
but it makes you think….what if….
October 9, 2011 at 6:39 pm #208943Thats for sure Menace,, better to have the safety net I reckon
Plus my missus is paying all the subscriptions cause she is the one that really wanted me to buy it :laugh:No worries Kat, If I get into trouble with the setup I will shout out (I should be fine be just in case)

October 9, 2011 at 6:45 pm #208944Yep, just ask Diddel
I believe he had not long had one when he broke his leg & was choppered out :whistle:One rescue, or even ninor assistance from family & friends & it`s payed for I reckon
October 9, 2011 at 9:22 pm #210275Mine is working flawlessly and the piece of mind it gives is worth the cost alone. Apart from the obvious benefit to solo riding it is just as important in groups and response time can make the difference.
