    Folks,

After my ride with Krusty last week and observing some interesting chip and gouge markings on my Tenere, I got cracking and fitted my B&B bash plate and radiator guard to protect the vitals. That done and dusted, I got thinking about the remaining engine opening and the exposed items that could also do with some protection. The solution came from a stroll this afternoon through Bunnings where I bought a 900mm x 600mm Mini Mesh fence panel. I measured the opening on my SW Motech crash bars and cut it to size and then attached it with UV stabilized cable ties for easy future removal. All up, it took me about an hour to cut out and fit and I am very happy with the result. It does not rattle and I did not pick up any additional noise during a quick trip up New Line Road.

I holed a case not long ago. I have a B&B bash plate but it didnt protect the bottom of the clutch case…. and a stone went through it. Solution, cut a piece of thick rubber to size, glue it to the case with sikaflex. Case protected.

I like that approach Jimmy, might not be the bling-est/ most trick looking mod but it’ll do the trick, I might investigate something similar for the 4 hun’it.
    Thanks for the idea ;)

That is good idea Jimmy. My interest in this mod is to protect the radiator, water pump hose, radiator expansion tank etc from flying debris.

As there is about a 50mm gap between the B&B bash plate and the engine, I guess that a piece of cut and glued rubber in between could give some additional protection, especially from direct rock impacts,

This is why I wanted as much frontal protection. Better safe than sorry!
