Any one got, or know of any good ways off freshening up a sweaty, sour smelling helmet???
November 9, 2011 at 7:57 pm #211510Pull the liner out and put it in the washing machine?
November 9, 2011 at 8:03 pm #211513Buy a new helmet with a removable liner and then throw it in the washing machine.
I had a helmet in 2004 that I wore to Cape York. I had shaved my head, it was Oct and stinking hot. We drank our weight in piss every-night and sweat all the next day. Driving home around Roma the smell got to us and we stopped, pulled the car apart to find the smell. It turned out it was my helmet  threw it in a road side bin and drove home  Never bought a helmet without a removable since

November 10, 2011 at 9:58 am #211534After you wash the helmet and it’s completely dry get some of this stuff from Coles, Woolies or a chemist and spray a small amount in it. I use it in my boots as well.

After a hot sweaty ride grab some old news papers and pack it in your helmet and boots to soak up the sweat as much as possible and use the spary the next morning.

best remidy
rub vegimite on the chin piece before your ride next,,I know it sounds like bullshit but it really works, apparently its the yeast extract that absorbs the odours, we use it in the medical industry all the time.
please post up the results following your next ride,, you will be amazed at the outcome..
Cheers
