November 11, 2011 at 9:50 am #211646Nick,
I just tried it and it came up with 27 searches including yours as most recent
Check the time frame for your search and I selected all catagories

November 11, 2011 at 9:59 am #211650As explained on the phone the other day Nick you have to put a little more info in, once you do that it’s a ripper. I found it frustrating until sharp Mick told me like I have explained to you and it works good IMO

Sharp Mick indeed.
November 11, 2011 at 10:22 am #211652I have problems as well, I was trying to find the top end rebuild report that menace did but it didn’t give me any results.
How do I search if I can’t remember the exact wording the was used, plus I only had space for 21 letters.
think I’m doing something wrong.PTW

Exactly Pete , I’ve been trying different combinations but seem to be stuffing something up.
Cmon Mick , give us a step by step for the simple ones !!!
November 11, 2011 at 10:54 am #211647Thanks Adam, I was looking for it awhile ago and found it by going back through pages and pages of threads.
I just typed in search engine issues and couldn’t even get this thread, I must be doing something wrong.
November 11, 2011 at 11:18 am #211656November 11, 2011 at 12:28 pm #211657Righto, this should give you a bit of an idea how to effectively use the search function.
First of all you are gunna have to have an idea of what you are searching for and type a general description into the Keyword bar.
Then start narrowing down your search by trying to remember how long ago it was posted and set a date range for it to look for it in.(Directly below the Keyword bar)
On the right hand side of the search page, type in the name of the person who you think may have posted it.
Below, that there is the category field, minimise your results by picking a category you thing it may have been posted in. ie KTM bikes.. for Menace’s rebuild thread….then click Search. By doing these step the search engine will throw up the top 5 results.
It is all about being a bit more specific in your search. It took me one go to find Menace’s 300 rebuild thread by using this technique.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Mick that all seems easy but I can’t find those search options on the OBT site via my phone or my computer.
I think my computer has a problem with the bit that connects the keyboard to the chair.November 11, 2011 at 10:41 pm #211648Nickj, Pete the Wolf,
Buy yourselves a decent phone and you won’t have any problems

November 11, 2011 at 10:44 pm #211679Hey Pete ( and other smart phone users ) , looks like we’re in luck , I noticed a Google search engine has appeared above the ‘today’s birthdays’ box. It has an option to search within old bulls and it works a treat
