December 2, 2011 at 11:53 am #212520Here is my secret brew TB.
Take the steaks and coat in some sesame oil. Then cover them in a little Hoisin sauce, a small amount of Sambal Oeleck and a drizzle of soy sauce to bring it all together. You don’t need them sitting in this for more than an hour as the soy sauce will start to firm the meat if left for too long.
Rest in the fridge for 1 hour before cooking, take them out and bring them to room temp before cooking and then when you have cooked the steaks drizzle the rest of the brew from the plate they were on over the top.
Don’t forget to let them rest off the heat for 5 minutes before serving them.Top shelf!!

December 2, 2011 at 3:13 pm #212525Why marinade if you just buy a good quality steak thats about 1 inch thick. Cook it to a medium on a BBQ with a bit of Bush spices from your spice rake in the supermarket. let rest for 5 minutes after cooking.

The mayor :cheer: Couldnt give a big black rats fat about him, he doesnt do anything special when I am there. His lovely wife that could do much better in life then him, well that’s another story, she has gone down the road and got me Bundies late at night, washed my riding gear and made my favorite pea and ham soup. So I thought an extra effort BBQ was in order, besides I like marinading my steak anyway and thought maybe someone has a better idea. Now bugger off Eags

December 2, 2011 at 6:48 pm #212522I’m not a big fan of marinated steaks and you are right Cory. Buuut If you do cook anything that is marinated put some baking paper under it and the marinade will not burn as easily and also when you are finished the mess is contained to the paper and you just throw it out. It does not work on the grill and If you have very high temps and lots of fat the paper will burn. This is the best thing for cooking marrinated chicken kebab sticks as it is hard to cook the chicken properly before the marinade burns. You can use thos pan liner products that do the same thing but this does not require cleaning as is cheap. Best bloke advice ever.
