Guys,
I’m looking for some eyes and ears out at Grafton or Grafton way. I have some interest in a bike a 2010 Husaberg FE450 at Crossroads Motor Cycles Grafton. I am down south (Sydney) and cannot get there to have a look. Can anyone help me out with a once over and semi informed look?
I just cannot get there due to work commitments, and don’t have the balls to part with my hard earned with out some sort of qualifying of the purchase.

Please let me know if you can help.

Crossroads is a very reputable dealer owned by ex racer Lee Palmer , I recently bought a fun bike for the family from him and he was honest and fair priced. I normally use Grafton motorcycles for all my gear and repairs so I don’t know Lee personally.

I would be happy to have a look at the Berg for you next week sometime , I’m not a mechanic but can give a reasonably informed opinion of the bike in general.

Wow, if your in the area and close by and can have a squizz, that would be great.

I spoke to Lee a few weeks ago, but haven’t made an offer or expressed any great interest as such.

I’m not overly mechanically minded so any info good and bad would be great.

With a can of Bike shine and a a decent camera, all bikes look the goods on the net.

Nice looking bike Action. You’ll have a ball on that if you buy it.

It says ‘no rego’. Make sure they have all the rego gear for it and all it all works. Better still get them to throw in a blue slip and it will be easy for you to get rego when you get it home.

I have seen that bike in the store and it looks very tidy. I will be in Grafton on Thursday so I can quiz Lee on it.
If you have not already checkout Lee Palmers race bio on his website. He has a massive amount of experience and if he says it is a good thing then it is.

Nickj and I just checked it out for you. It has 1410km on the clock and 41 hours and it is very tidy. It has some scuffing on the clutch cover and a scratch on the pipe but no dents. We gave it a good going over and it needs a new counter shaft seal and front wheel bearings which they have agreed to throw in at no cost. They will also put a new sticker on that sweet Apropovik pipe to cover the scratched one.
It has a sweet bark to it and the front tyre is original which shows how little it has done. The owner works on a gas plant and is away a lot which explains the low mileage. He want to buy a 2012 570.The plastics are in like new state.
Nickj took some shots that he will post later.
At $8999 it is a very good buy in my opinion.

Don’t worry too much about scuff marks on the clutch cover, mine was showing signs of wear after 1 ride, just the paint coming off I suppose?

The new Bergs are a sweet ride mate, go for it!

Gents, Many thanks for all your help.
I got the call from Nick re the goss on the bike.
From all told “its the biz”
Now its time to do a deal.
Again, a huge thanks to both Nick and STM.
I love the OBT spirit.
Very happy to be part of the crew.
Hopefully I can do a deal and get this baby to Sydney.

Just so you know Action , DY4 ( spud ) also called in today about 30 minutes after STM and I , to check it out. Unfortunately his Internet is down so he couldn’t give you a report but he checked it out and said much the same as we did.

G’day action i’ve conned me mate into loggin in at his place. I checked the bike out today as Nick said 30mins after he and STM were there. Top looking bike as the boys said but also needs new tyres.
