Just want to ask a few of the knowledgeble members out there in reards to the cush drive Hub. :huh:
Looking to do some distance rides on the CRF 450 x,do i go down the path of the of the cush drive hub,etc,or adjust the size of the sproket?…blah blah blah..anyone had any expeirence with them? :huh:
Looking at a 25 lt Aceribus tank at the moment and i want a few bits and peices to sit in the corner of the shed ..so i can change the bike to suit my needs.

Go up 1 on the front from standard and down 3 to 5 on the back

They are the better hub of the two, they run standard KTM cush rubbers available over the counter throughout Australia.
Talon, have their own cush rubbers, doubt many shops would keep them handy.
The cush not only takes stress off the drivetrain it makes for a much more comfortable smoother ride.
The Husaberg Rallye team had Talon hubs & are changing them over to Haan.
My Safari CRF had a 21 litre Safari tank, that alone could meet the 300km min fuel requirement, it also had an 5.5 litre rear tank, range would be 500+km, the 5.5litre tank replaces the side plates & allows use of the stock exhaust, plumbed up through the standard CRF fuel tap. It would do over 120km on the rear tank before switching to the front

CRF seat is not that bad, there are worse.

Interesting choice for long rides though,,, CRF450 :whistle:
You will be tired after a long day :unsure: More ready for a cold beer or twenty I suppose :woohoo:The Cush Hub is a must, will make a big difference and give you more life from chain & sprockets too

A cush drive is a great idea for sure, although I haven’t purchased one yet for the Kato 450 and have had no problems at all with the gearbox in it, however I will in future.
From my experience with a dual purpose enduro/adv bike would be a soft/comfortable seat is a must. Reduce the vibrations through the handle bars, rubber mount, maybe some weight in the bar ends would help to reduce the vibes. I still need to try this. (TB suggestion) Or better still a set of flex bars. Soft Rallye Grips. Screen for wind buffet, good head light in case you get stuck and require to do some night riding, not ideal but better than a std candle. Pivot pegs are a comfort thing. Obviously adv gearing is a must to reduce engine speed and get better fuel economy.More Later,

All good ideas there. The cush drive is a must a 450 gearbox of any make will not last long term fast open running. It was a lesson learnt by the big teams when 450s started at Yellow Mountain, Finke, Safaris etc
I think with enough mods they will do alright. For me the jury is out as to engine life for a 450 as they arent designed for long periods of high load and tall gearing does create that as well as soft ground, head winds etc. That said if you only do the odd ADV rides, maybe not the big west ones keep the loads down umm. Just my thoughts Leftys is proving otherwise thus far :laugh:TB

CRF’s have rubber mount bars standard, they twist at the the smallest hit
Screens are not needed, I even ride a naked sport bike, Screens are for softies & over rated IMHO
A set of Rallye foam grips maybe, although a few people think Renthal Dual Compound Kevlar grips are better, especially if you don’t like bulky grips.
A Set of Fastway F3 pegs are the go, can be run at standard height or 10mm lower. Much better than the mini bike pegs that come on the CRF.
The standard seat is fine, as I posted earlier. Never gave me any issues
