Went for a sunday ride with a mate on his new Scrambler and thought we would check out a forest nearby.

We thought we would have a bit of a wander around and stashed our helmet and jackets so as not to carry them. When we returned Mark grabbed his jacket and found this cute fella curled up in between mine and his

I am glad it was a bit cool and he was slow moving  . Steve

Have to be honest, I never leave bike gear on the ground just in case that kind of thing happens but have come across many snakes near the bike at times, they call freak me. :)

Glad that all was noticed quickly and no harm done

We don’t get Tiger snakes in Northern NSW but I have Death Adders living up behind my house and theirs plenty of Black Snakes so I don’t think I’ll be leaving any gear on the ground if snakes get in your stuff that quickly.

Joking aside how is the Scambler off road ? As a pom I really like the look of the reborn Triumphs but I’ve never ridden with anyone on one.

    Yep lesson learned :)

It seemed ok on the forest roads, as good as the Strom which isn’t saying much but Mark is finding the back end a bit bouncy in stock trim. Apparently other owners are fitting Kawasaki shocks to the back. Steve

The thread title is a bit misleading. Sounds to me like the adventure riding was fine. It was when you got off the bikes and walked that things went pear shaped. This proves that riding is better for you than walking.

Its not only adv riding, we were at cells the other week, CCC ride and Polly stayed at camp following a big off, and took photos of a red belly black snake wandering around our camp . Reason 1 why I sleep in the back of the car over there and not on the ground. Hopefully Polly will post the photos of the ride up for us?
