Well some here may know abou the APC rally series run by John “Homer” Hudson from QLD. John is the owner of the APC rally brand and ran for the first time last year the APC rally which was a 14 day event. Well Homer has started running a 4 day APC rally series as well, these are a pure navigation style ride where there is no cornerman as such. The route for the NSW ride was one I worked out over a month and we pre ran on the Trailzone Mag ride, that was the real reason behind that ride at first. Once you send your entry in John sends you the route a week before or can load it for you at one of the start locations. You then ride your own pace for the event following the route on the GPS

Long story short I had family stuff planned on the weekend of the 21st – 22nd but that got canned so I have submitted my entry and am doing the NSW ride. Unfortunately work prevents me riding of thursday  But Homer has arranged meto join the rally near Canberra on Thursday night. deejay the legend is going to run me down Thursday evening so I don’t have to slab it. Steve from ADV Moto is coming down with us, I will probably ride on my own having the ability to set my own pace, stop when I want, no regroups required will be interesting. We will all be staying at the same pub on the 4 day rides apparently so regroup there
Worth a look if anyone is interested

Yeah your right about the chat Eags, I reckon it will give me heaps of time to think and plan other rides and events. I have bluetoothed my iPod to my Scala G4 to pass the time if I want. I aiming to just ride my own ride at my own pace and only stop when I need fuel. I am hoping to run out of the dust and be in early each night to get the good accommodation
I will try to update at each night stop if I canTB
April 16, 2012 at 9:41 am #219851Looking forward to see how you go and hear the report.
April 16, 2012 at 11:11 pm #219852I have had to withdraw from this ride this evening due to circumstances beyond my control. Got to say I am disappointed but as Ned Kelly said “Such is life”

No actually Salina just said 10mins ago it was a pity because I had been given a free entry (that was because they are using my route remember we pre-ran it on the trailzone ride)
Do you really think I ride and spend the time away I do if I was under the thumb  :laugh:No not that Scotty

Nah just taken the piss. The truth is with my life getting in the way of riding at the moment I am living my adventures through reading others ride reports.
April 17, 2012 at 1:45 am #219891Shame, sometimes all the deadlines for twenty jobs seem to all come up at the same time.
This is a ride I’d really like to do, maybe next yearHope all is good
