I thought i would start a thread about giving credit where it is due, we have all heard about it costing too much, poor service or it was a shitty product, but what about the people who get it right, they deserve to be heard of more than the jokers.
    So here goes

I want to give Steve from Adventuremoto a big rap, with all the work and money he put into the Scrapheap ride he also offered the WR for me to ride home :woohoo: that was awesome as i had allegedly broken two bikes already  I didnt need to ride home but he offered it to me so i could continue the adventure with the guys and i cant thank him enough as i would have put 800k’s on it while having one great ride :cheer: Steve’s attitude and willingness to help is top notch, its these qualities that make me want to spend my money here in australia and Adventuremoto will be a place i shop from now on. :)
Thanks Steve your a legend B)

    Nice one Pete!
Credit to Jason Barrett @ Barrett exhausts. He gave me A+ service and advice and rebuilt my pipe for a very good price. Aussie product with backup from a guy that rides bikes.

I have recently shelled out my hard earned with both these guys. One day I rang Barrett and he could not have been more helpful – never took my name or pressured me in any way but rest assured it resulted in a purchase the next day through his website. He would never know if I was just a tyre kicker or not, which is why he got my business (plus his exhaust is awesome!).

Unfortunately for my big spends, Steve has been away but he is always so helpful and seems to have an uncanny knack of having exactly what I want in stock. While he does not have a shop, per say, he is always helpful to be around (so is Janice) when I have the desire to spend up. Good business sense I know, but being the sole provider or much stock (or at least has it in stock) makes you want to buy from him even when the dollar is so damn good and the states is so damn cheap. When I was there, of he didnt know he rang trail boss and sorted my question. Being relatively new to the sport, I am still discovering the benefit of the local post sale support and these two have scored well in my books.

Another that was very helpful, even though it has not yet resulted in a sale, was mick from micks tyres just north of Brisbane. I left a message when trying to sort new tyres for a mates bike I was borrowing and he returned it promptly and was really helpful. I did not end up buying anything but he was right up there too and I recommend him if your in that neck of the woods.

    Great idea Pete

Steve Smith is a legend, I know him more now on a personal side as well as business. I have sat in the car and listened to him bend over backwards for people’s what I felt were unreasonable requests regarding sales. His charity work and support for Old Bulls is awesome to say the least. Steve’s passion for the sport puts him above most IMO.

I have dealt with Jason Barrett now about half a dozen times he is super helpful, honest, up front, can ride like the wind and a pleasure to deal with every time. There has been some talk about Barretts being a site supporter and I must get my finger out and get the details to Jason. Ask Nick, Deejay etc how helpful Jason is

Nick Dole from Teknik’s has to rate a mention he for me, last Thursday night Nick stayed back after-hours to bail me out as I was getting the Tenere ready for the APC 4 Day ride. Then the worst thing possible (bike preparation wise anyway) happened Friday and he again stayed back doing a big job for me until after 9pm Friday night two nights in a row. He charged me stuff all I felt and seemed as happy as pie to do it. Neither repair was suspension related the man can do anything!

Brian from Team Moto Yamaha at Blacktown is my go to genuine Yamaha parts man. Brian doesn’t bullshit and seems to make it happen, gives me a discount and is fast

Scotty at Sutto’s also, I put Scotty under the pump a lot, put pressure on him and most of the time he comes through. He thinks ahead and when he can learn to tell the difference between Michelin tyres he will be the complete package. Sutto himself is awesome, helpful, has a chat and is always able to offer good advice, held the OBT tyre change night and got right into it doing tyres and demos as well

If anyone has a drama with a site supporter please don’t be afraid to PM me and we can see if we can get it sorted

I can only totally agree with all said above ;)
I have had dealings with Steve & Janice from ADV Moto as well as Scotty at Suttos and always get first class service B)
So much so that I rarely visit any bike shops anymore (except for NDBD in Newy) ,
It`s just too easy to call the other guys down south and hook up a great deal from home

    Cheers

As TB said Jason Barrett helped me out massively when I was stuck , as did ADV Moto Steve for loaning me a bike and Old bull Lefty who did a top job making the Tenere live on.

Credit is also due to Dargo Dan from Dargo general store in the Victorian High Country, who will help ANYONE at all , every time I’ve been their he throws open his workshop door and let’s you make repairs yourself or if your unsure he loves to get in and help you out. He finds accommodation when you need a bed and has 98 octane fuel just for bikes. He’s a great bloke and deserves more credit than I can write :)

Tw thumbs up for Tisco (Scotty) at Sutto’s. How many bike shops can you call up and use your OBT name as ID
When I won the Rekluse last year he loaded my filthy bike on his trailer after the ride back to Capertee, took it into work, fitted the Rekluse, gave it the once over and rang TB to tell him it was ready to go.
Champion bloke and the king of tyre deals. You can get tyres cheaper at Sutto’s than any US site if you include freight.

Up here in Tamvegas we are blessed with a couple of great bike shops, two of the owners are Old Bulls and the Yamaha dealer is an avid trail rider. All give great service Mattt and the team at bikes and bits will always bust their arse to help you out, while Steve at Cycle Tune is forever helping us out and is even prepared to risk loaning me a bike for a try out (even if it had a brick for a seat). Both Matt at Bikes and Bits and Rod from Ride Motor Cycles were also happy to lend me Leatt Braces for my research project. More reason to live in Gods country!!

    Well done PTW
We are all too often guilty of bagging some product/mechanic/shop
Not many of us actually give thanks/credit to the ones who do get it right. B)
