I’m after some new hoops for this season. My Dunflops are from 2009 and a little on the scary side.
Whats the flavour this season? I saw Mal talk about Kendas, old reviews on Dunflop MX51, Does TB still rave about PS MX eXtras?
Id like a sticky front that wont throw knobs too easy. Not worried if it wears quick Rear not so fussy but would like it to last reasonably well. To fit a 300 of course.
Any Suttos specials?
May 5, 2012 at 1:39 am #221065i been using the PS extra’s for abit now and they are nice to ride on.
i put a michy S12 on front this time and sticks like S@#T to a blanket and just got an M12 that i will try for the rear but have hear good things about them and at $100 from sutto’s SCORE!!!!!!
May 5, 2012 at 1:51 am #221083got some in the shed if your interesed alex a pirrelli mx extra back- bridgstone 603-604 tyre(front back) -good in the rock and shit at sunny corner buy the pirrelli i don t want it
May 5, 2012 at 1:53 am #221084Running a set of Michy’s from Suttos M12 front and rear. $185 from Tisco the man at Suttos.

If you are hard on the rear tyre the Sunny Corner loam will tear up the soft rears. Dont go a hard tyre either as the slippery red clay will have you on your arse or down the bottom of a tricky hill looking at your mates up the top.
See Mals thread on the Kendas that he is loving atm.
Just dont run a half worn, or worse, rear. :silly:
Heavy Duty or Ultra Heavy Duty tubes are the go if you dont like changing your pinched tubes on the trail. Most of the local folk run mousse tubes which tells you something.
Gotta love rolling into the forest on new tyres . :woohoo:

May 5, 2012 at 2:02 am #221066Hmmm so maybe an S12 for the front have not run one for years.
Ill buy your scorpion Rocket for the rear good idea.May 5, 2012 at 2:06 am #221067That clay hill last year made my old 756 look bad. Got up on the 4th attempt after everyone took 3inches off the top soil for me. New tyres this time.
May 5, 2012 at 2:16 am #221087S12 font and rear, don’t spin the rear and you can’t go wrong

May 5, 2012 at 3:21 am #221068I have been using the Michelin M12 front for a while now and do a heap of riding around Sunny Corner, excellent grip and wears very well.
I hear the M12 on the rear is also good,
Cheers Marty
May 5, 2012 at 3:24 am #221100i like the m12 fronts but not keen on the backs just my opionion they step out unpredictably in corners.give great drive up hills but

S12 100 times better

May 5, 2012 at 11:01 am #221086S12 front and rear if you don’t mind getting through rear tyres a bit quicker or compromise with an S12 front and an MX Extra on the back. That combo will give you more miles and do the job but not the supreme hook up of an S12 rear.

May 5, 2012 at 12:04 pm #221069I’ve been happy with S12 front M12 rear… Running a mousse in front and UHD rear… Is it time yet?
May 5, 2012 at 1:13 pm #221104i agree, M12’s rears are downright dangerous bastards on corners
S12’s all round, there is no compromise
May 5, 2012 at 1:15 pm #221070Yep looks like Michelin is the flavour of the month. S12 for winter and Rockets rear because he’s selling it to me cheap haha.
Thanks for the info team.
May 5, 2012 at 1:17 pm #221106I ended up with an M12 rear by mistake a thought it give it a go , it’s not a patch on the S12 for traction and is unpredictable in the corners.
S12 for sure !
