With my holidays winding down I went out yesterday for a ride. No set plan just a day of playing around on some singles on the RMX .

My plans took a bit on a beating about 1km from the car when I grabbed a handful of front brake on some loose gravel and went down hard giving my left ankle a good twisting and taking some skin off my left arm. :pinch:

At this point I contemplated calling it quits for the day but pulled myself together and carried on even if I was feeling sore and sorry for myself. :(

I got into the single and took things easy just playing in some tight stuff but only managed about 40km as the ankle was still giving my trouble making gearshifts a problem. Still a good day out and after 6 weeks of holiday I may now need to chuck some sickies till the ankle comes good.

I took some video. Recorded in 720 but uploaded in low res as my monthly data limit is almost up, dam youporn. The camera angle may be off in spots it got messed up in the crash and after getting hooked on trees a few times. You will see at about 3.35 mark my head nearly getting ripped off.

    Nice edit Scotty
Your camera is doing a good job. I reckon just tilt it up a little bit and it will be perfect.
Those trails look awesome. Between you and Mal you are making me very jealous. I have ridden the Blue Mountains and Central West three times now and seen nothing like that. You boys certainly have some sweet trails stashed away.

    Scotty,

    That graze is ugly

Did you have the camera set to 135 or 90 degrees FOV?

    Adam.

I’m pretty sure it was 135 but I would have to check. I had an issue with the camera and needed to hit the reset button which reset everything to the default settings which I’m sure is 135.

Hey Scotty,,did yu get that gravel rash through yu gersy,or did yu sleev slide up.
I’v started to duct tape mine around the rist so they stay in place. I;m also going for a heavier type of boot as well for more protection,,I chose the ones that I have ,cause they were eaziest to walk in,,wich means that they were the softist. Now after the leg,I,m going for maximum protection.
Hope the ankle heals up quick for yu.
The RMX sounds nice n crisp :cheer: They’r great motors I recon, nice vid too.
    Cheers Teza.

Teza the sleeve came up as I was sliding along the ground. I had only taken the sleeves off my jacket that morning :pinch: . I think its time I got a pressure suit for summer riding.

As for the boots I was only telling the misses I am due for a new pair last week I think she is now convinced.

On a positive note my new knee braces worked a treat. The patella cup saved my knee as my new fox pants were worn through the double layer knee area and now have a nice hole for ventilation.

Yeh! thats a big plus for the knee braces, you’d be pretty happy with that, recon I’l be puting them on my list, along with assorted other protective gear. May be I’l just get me a Michelin man suit and be done with it,,role around the bush like some kinda Sumo Demo man
But,,, realy,,,I’m over injeries,,,just spoils the fun.
    Teza.
