    Gents,
Just a quick one, my fat @rse is making me ‘bottom out’ I need to do something…
I think if I pre load or shorten the spring a bit and then turn the clickers on the rear suspension (maybe)?
    Will that alleviate the issue.
As much as I would love to put a heavier spring in, I just don’t think the funds will allow it.

    Thanks for looking
    Cheers

Whatever you do without having the right spring weight in there will be a compromise. You can maybe add some oil to help bottoming but adjusting clickers to get round the issue will just make the ride worse elsewhere.

If you can’t afford a spring I’d deal with the odd bottom out until you can get one.

    hey action,
    what bike do you have?

a correct rated spring for the rear shouldn’t be that expensive. and you should be able to fit it your self.

but if it’s an older shock or if you have done a bit of riding it may be worth saving up the extra $$ to have it overhauled and the valving looked at, at the same time.

    Action,

I have to agree with Moto.

You can’t defy the laws of physics :P

Have you checked the ride and static sag ? This will tell you for sure what you need to do ;)

    Hey Action
Try and save some money and buy the next heavier spring
I bought heavier springs front and rear when I got my new 500 as I am a little bit too heavy for the originals. There easy enough to fit.

    Hi Action,

Can i ask what the bike is? Kinda hard to give advice without that information.

Shock springs are $180 to OB members and pretty easy to fit yourselves.

    Hi Action,

OK the 01-02 WR 250 ran a light fork /shock spring combination, 0.41 and 4.8kg/mm in the rear.
The current WR250 is 0.44 and 5.3kg and it’s OK for 80-85kg riders.
If you would like to know what i suggest for springs go to http://www.teknikmotorsport.com/modelsearch
and put your bike type and weight in.
the 01-02 WR250 was the closest to the YZF they made AND if you buy a YZ exhaust cam you get the auto decompresser and more power, makes the bike so easy to start you won’t miss the electric leg.
