This is a tad amusing now but earlier today ,,,,,,,

Was running late for work this morning, geared up, rode out shed door & noticed it was raining, so back inside to gear up for a wet ride,,,
Gets to work & find that all of a sudden we have 5 extra bikes in the smallish Bikeshed due to a new “No Parking Onsite” past a new Boomgate
Noticed a KLX250 parked in middle of a spot for 4 bikes but parked on a 45 degree angle, thus blocking the way considerably,,, F$%K

Do a 15 point maneouvre to back the bike around &slide past the KLX and into my normal spot against the far wall. Then as I get off the saddle two more roadies roll into the crammed shed, Blowing Up at Old Mates parking prowess

Me being the silly helpful type tell them to hold on a second while I make room by moving KLX into a better position (I know the guy that owns it anyway)
Off with helmet, stride over and reach down to grab the front wheel (steering locked) & handlebar to slide the front across a few feet,,,,,,,
Well, of course,,, As soon as I touch the front rim OVER FALLS THE DAMN BIKE :pinch:
Result,,, One smashed coolant overflow bottle and coolant all over the floor

Old Mate waiting on the first Roadie utters “Damn, That sux!!!”
    My response,, “Well if I wasn`t doing you a favour I wouldn`t be F#$^*&^G MYSELF OVER would I ???”

Up to see KLX owner (who`s car is off the road for a week and he lives 40k away), explain the parking protocol of the shed and then tell him that I will fix it even though he is a dickhead for parking like that :S
Ring the local dealer at 9 and run in to pick up a bottle that is in stock.Gets there and of course it`s the wrong one
Have to order one $52 later ,,, so back to work to tell owner and then proceed to glue up the old one & reinstall ,,,,

Now have to go back in tomorrow (or Monday) to get new bottle then do the swap over again !!!
And I had to stay back to make up the hour I was away :silly:

Next time every other bastard can park outside

On reflection,,, I reckon 9 out of 10 blokes at work would have left it lying there & walked away !!!!
Not silly old reliable me though

Eags i feel your pain mate, i would have done the same thing as you.

I had a similar instance years ago that cost me $80 trying to help someone else.

I try and help fellow bikers when ever i can,but i assess the situation more so these days before i get into it.

No Pain,, Just a good old laugh as the day went on,,,,

Tonnes of remarks, comments texts and even calls to confirm “just how many bikes” I had ploughed into and Dominoed out the door !!!!!

The good old workplace RUMOUR MILL is in top form at my work B)

As always on OBT outings and in general day to day life, Helping others out is what we do,,, Just not at my work without taking a moment to gather my thoughts

I still miss the old Super Commuter, She was a reliable old thing :)

The new bottle failed to turn up today (only had to come from Sydney, I can get stuff from OS nearly as quick)
Good news is that the bog job on the old one stood up fine today & old mate is riding it again to work over the weekend ,,,,
