G’day all,
Dave is the name, 52 yrs of age & live around New Lambton/ Adamstown area and ride an 07 Maroon DL650 V-strom which I bought 2nd hand from Boyd’s in Newy with 24,500kms on the clock..and had just the right amount of farkles that I required on it including the mandatory sidestand…although I’m a hopeless mechanic :laugh:
I’ve had the bike for 12 Months now and have done over 10,000kms on it including a NSW & QLD tour last March which co-incided with the Stromtroopers Annual gathering in Bingara. I’m also a member of Stromtroopers and ADV (the latter of which I have yet to post much of anything) and I’m also a Admin/ Moderator of aussie bbq forum (the largest bbq forum in Australia…I’m Davo in there…pls check it out if you’re really interested in BBQ)
Anyway…I haven’t really came in to do plugs for them forums but to enjoy Motorcycling more and meet new people to go on rides & tours with. I’m trying my best through budget restraints to get my bike set up more for touring and am now seriously looking for the best way to go for Panniers….hard or soft…not sure which was to go with this.
I’m a sort of a shiftworker, do broken shifts with Newcastle Buses as a Bus driver so quite a few saturdays are taken up with work but can swap or arrange certain Saturdays or weekends off if a good ride Weekend is looming.
I hope to meet up with some of you guys soon over a coffee or beer or ride

That was before the 690 turned up :laugh:Thanks for the welcome fellas….I dunno if I’ll get to be as hardcore as you blokes and some of the machines on offer are very hard to resist…..love the Trumpy Tigers but I’ve got one major thing against me….YUP….the Ol’ Duck disease…..it’s hard enough trying to find the ground on me Wee-strom :side:
I’ve done a few of the dirt roads between Bulladelah and the Gog and around the lower Monkarai areas as well as Gresford. Gotta couple of New mates through Stromtroopers that live in the area…I’ll have to tell them about this forum. I gotta admit, I only found it yesterday by accident when I was researching saddlebags and was pleasantly surprised when many of you guys are from around the Hunter area….I kinda beleive now it was meant to happen

Welcome Dave, I have recently joined Old Bulls myself and live in Thornton. Ride a Tenere and am an young buzzard (51).
Have 2 mates that ride Wee Stroms that live in Thornton as well. I am sure we will catch up somewhere down the track mate. Dirthopper.
