Hey all,
Todays ride turned from 4 hills and a footlong to 2 hills and a breakdown.
Unfortunately, Mick broke a clutch cable (for those out there on European bikes, it is a cable that runs from the clutch lever to the actual clutch)
Anyway, the new to the game, Mick, took on almost all the challenges. :woohoo: :woohoo:Started on time.
Did most of our singles out to the start of “Amazon”
We now start this hill from the true base, which has a couple of tricky bits to warm up on.
Stage 1 was done with no help between the crew. (Tim cruised the high line, neatly)
Stage 2 was more fun, but I think we all got through unassisted.
Stage 3, well, it is the crux. :woohoo:
Tim had a few goes at the extreme, RH variant, but no luck this time. :pinch:
I rode up the easier far left line. :silly:
Then proceeded to take pics of the boys. :woohoo:
Tim did the RH version and Mick did the LH version with a little help from Tim (No slings were brought out though, much to Micks cedit.
Gotta send this damn message before it deletes itself. I am not the fastest typer.
Carry on later
Cheerio
MurphDecember 8, 2012 at 9:01 am #233396Back again. :pinch:
Continued up this Iconic hill. :woohoo:
A huge tree had fallen not long after the slab but a new line has been made to the right, which means someone else is doing this hill. :silly: :silly: :silly:
“Cruized” to the top.
Travelled 5kms of boring, but welcome dirt road.
Rode down to Boarding house dam, Tim had a swimand I dunked my head in what was freezing water. 👿
Met (spelling) Looselink and a huge crew coming back out of the dam.
Good to put names to some faces.
Crossed over to the very long trail to the start of “Slippery Rock”
Only one tricky log section before the start of the up hill.
Tim and I cruized this hill and Mick was not too far behind.
:woohoo:
OPen stuff, again good for a rest, then back into some singles and down to the bottom of the valley we now call “Congo” :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: 👿
Tim and I made it over the logs, through the creek and up the other bank, getting keen for what was to come. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Unfurtately, Mick had broken his clutch cable.
Could not of happened in a worse spot.
Anayway we got the HONDA going with a bit of bush mechanics (vice grips hanging on to the cable, hanging below the clutch lever)
TBCDecember 8, 2012 at 9:12 am #233405Shit sometimes happens. :pinch:
So even though Tim and I were keen to crack the “Congo” hill we decided to escort Mick home the easy way.
On arriving home, I had 100.9kms on the trip.
Never got a phone call from Mick after we parted at Wangi Rd, so I guess he got home alright.
Shame we didn’t finish what we had set out to do.But alls good that ends good.
A whole lot of pics to come
A whole lotta love
Cheers
