Needed some fuel to mow the lawn yesterday
No fuel in jerry’s so I thought I woud just get a couple of litres out of my 500
Well thats not as easy as you would think
Being fuel injected I couldn’t just undo the fuel line coming from the tank
So I thought I would siphon some but the hose I was using wouldn’t stay straight enough to get down to the fuel
This was becoming very frustrating and what made it worse was that everytime I pulled the hose out of the tank, evidentely I was, unknowingly scraping bits of rubber hose off from the very sharp edge inside the lip of the tank. Now I have pieces of rubber hose floating around inside the tank     Not too good knowing that the fuel filters are so bloody fine.
Question:- What is involved in getting the pump and bits from the tank so I can flush it properly???
Is there anybody out there who has had to remove these bits???
Murphy’s law says that it isn’t as easy as it looks.
    Any help appreciated
    Cheers

Hmm…. My 350 has a fuel drain plug on the underside of one of fins.. I would think yours does as well…

I would pull the tank and flush to get the crap out… Ugh… :P

    Murph,

If you take the pump out there is a filter and strainer (available as a kit) you can replace as well.

These should collect the plastic off the hose before it gets to the small filter in the fuel line.

Try this link ;) Number 2 on the diagram

    All done
    Nice and easy
A fair bit of crap came out
In future, I will just go and buy more fuel  .
Might take it for a run tomorrow morning if the weather is cool and there is no surf
    Cheers
