I recently acquired one of these Led Lenser H14 headlamps for use at work.
It comes with some great features, appart from being 210 lumens output ;)
Runs off 4 x AA bateries and reportedly last 90mins on full power (could get more from Lithiums obviously)

It is a multi use light with battery pack, ability for different ways to use it together with headstrap or without and comes with a bracket for handlebar mounting. Also has a few diferent light programmes with lower output, battery saving mode and strobe etc

I am thinking of adapting it to attach to the side of my helmet for emergency lighting in the dark if all turns to shite and my headlight is not enough.

I do have LED`s on the bike also for this, but thought it may be an option for others just in case of a late ride home (especially now that the days are short this time of year)

Anyone already got a similar setup ???

They look pretty flash Eags! I reckon you could replace your headlight with it

It looks like the biz. It will be good to see what you think of it down the track. ;)

The LED`s I installed either side do better than my crap headlight mate ;)
I was thinking the headlamp unit would be good to carry when camping out for night use and as an emergency if other electrical dramas ever strike while riding in the dark is all ,,
At $90 each they are expensive as far as headlamps go, but if this one went missing, well maybe work would have to but me another one  :silly:

One each side of helmet ???

    Cheers

    Works a treat Lefty ;)

Because the light has so many options and comes apart from the headstrap mount, it simply clips onto the back edge of the helmet peak and can still be adjusted up & down from there.
The battery pack has the same clip to attach to camelback straps or similar and also has a handy extension lead to lengthen the distance from light to batteries.

Will test it out one day in the scrub maybe,, but hopefuly have no need to,, It is only an idea for an emergency option anyway B)

Yeah, but if you want some serious bark-burning light, have a look at these: 1000 Lumen T6 CREE LED Lights
Got one for the mountain bike and it is unbelievable! On the MTB it is literally too bright on full power, although this might be good on a faster moving “gasoline-powered” machine (these new fandangled things!) For the price, bloody good! Also comes with a strap to stick it on your head which I have used when crawling under my house, which usually seems to happen at night for some reason!
As far as battery powered CREE LED lights go, this is the schnizzle!
