Took my front wheel off tonight in readiness for a new 606.

Had a bugger of a job getting the axle out. The dude on You Tube literally pulled his out with his fingers. I had to punch mine out with a bit of dowel for a drift. The pinch bolts were well loose, little or no weight on the wheel. What was I doing wrong? (there didn’t seem to be much grease on it).

The main questions is do I need to get the new tyre balanced? (No rim locks or anything).

    Cheers

Wouldnt worry about rim locks unless you are planning on hitting the sand and letting your tyre pressures down below 14psi or so.

And balance it yes mate. If you cant get it balanced I will balance it at Lithgow friday night ;)

Clean the axle up with some fine wet and dry or fine sand paper and WD40, dry it and put some grease on it for next time champ, happy days.

I grease mine about every 3 months if not before Wigster,
TB would be nearly weekly `cause he goes thru that many tyres and has the axles out that often
