Correct me if I am wrong but isn’t Daniel Milner riding a 250F
I am sure TB will have an explanation of how this is possible

Arr seems this is sensitive
I do Scott there are two reasons, one: he is fast ;) Two he is on a Yamaha :P Nah he is just fast full stop. There is always an exception to the rule that’s what makes the rule a rule. If we unhooked ourselves we know that the four day has been won before on a 250F and that was 2006 at KTM 250F actually, and one time I think an XR250 has won it also??

I never said it’s always the case, it’s for the most part 450fs and two strokes check ours and world results and times. Does this puzzles me because if we were to believe the hype a 250f would be the 4S of choice but no they aren’t fast enough for fast riders. Didn’t Price win most rounds if not all (don’t quote me on that) on a 500 last year? Surely a lighter fours stroke would be better, while lighter by 3 kilos it just isn’t fast, and if you are fit 3 kilos is nothing.
For us the average punter we can and do ride a 250 harder (not faster always but harder) maybe giving us more satisfaction but then everybody goes cams and pistons etc why we ask maybe the extra couple of kilos is worth it? That’s up to the individual I guess.

I hope he wins it outright, it’s also worth noting day 2 had lots and lots of sand, I would have put money on the bigger hp bikes, but he is fast B)

    Go you good thing!!

Can’t really compare these pros to what most trail hacks do on weekends though. The fastest trail rider may still not be a decent racer, it is a mindset as much as anything else. It depends what you want from your riding. Me, I’m a surveyor, and a pretty good one if I do say so myself. I’d like to see how any of the top 15 riders in the A4DE go when handed a reflectorless total station and a hand-held disto laser measurer – but then again, my riding is about equivalent to their surveying skills. :P

I think most trail riders ride for fun. When it is a way to make a living, or even just as all-encompassing as being in the top 15 A4DE riders, the fun factor takes a back seat to the professional rider inside.

In my opinion, trail riders should ride the bike that gives them the biggest stiffy. Pros, well they can ride whatever they bloody well like!

For me, a 250F is the go, but many others prefer a 300 2T, or a 450F, or a 390F or… well the list goes on. Size of the bike isn’t the main factor for trail riders, it is all about the size of the stiffy! :silly: 👿

Milner won it outright last year on a 250, it was in his backyard, tight slippery trails and he smashed it, YZ not a WR.

He could win it on a 450 too.

    Don’t forget Wattsy won a 6day outright on a 125.

Yes he did and every round of the GNCC in the states on a different model KTM that year

Grabbo won one on an XR250 years ago as well
