OK so those at the Birthday ride saw I was presented with a custom painted helmet. The helmet was organised by Ace and our own King Strucky. This was a work in process for months I believe, apparently the guys contacted members via PM and got it organised. The helmet was donated by Sutto’s, Ace spoke with Chris Sutto himself and Chris had a helmet donated and sent straight away. The guys organised the helmet to be painted by Browns Grafix and they did an amazing job, it is wicked. The guys that helped them make this possible believe me I can’t thank you enough. Ace and Strucky for thinking thinking off this and then making it happen, I am speechless. I was speechless on the night when I was presented with the helmet. The reason behind the helmet apparently is for me helping people etc. I am humbled, I don’t think I do anything different from anybody else here. I will post the video up showing me receiving the helmet when I get my camera back, it will show the emotion behind receiving this amazing helmet.
The helmet will be pride of place in my lounge room, and proof of how much I love this helmet and why I received it I have purchased a display case for it. (The Ben Grabham helmet that he used at the Baja 1000, his actual race helmet doesn’t even have a display case)The display case like I said will go in the lounge room and don’t think for a second that was an easy negotiation with Salina.
    Thanks again everyone

I haven’t been an active participant on here for very long at all. In that time you have given me no end of assistance with things from buying a bike through to buying a GPS and how you wired it, not to mention help with maps etc and we won’t mention the high front guard as it’s a little sensitive ;)

But from where I stand you deserve the helmet and should accept it as a token of the appreciation by those who gave.

But you are a better man than I Gungadin! I’d be wearing that sucker at every chance, no way in hell my wife would negotiate displaying a helmet in the lounge room!

I’d pay money for a helmet as good as this…

    Thank you :)

The high guard isn’t a sensitive issue  I just wasted money on it and don’t want others to feel the same. Look you wont I am sure I will keep my opinion on it to myself ;) :P
Back to the helmet, I wont wear this helmet now or ever its to special to me. I have my Shoei ADV helmet at Alison arts as I type this being custom painted and I will wear it daily and am excited about that I can tell you :woohoo:

    Thanks again

Problem is I bought a guard BEFORE you told me it was a waste of time/money… so now I just have to fit it (maybe) ’cause I paid good cash for it! And it’s white, I can’t afford a white bike but a white guard I could handle!

You deserve every bit of it and more mate. I am glad you like it! I have known you for over a decade now and I remember the countless weekend rides in the Watto’s , The 4-day and Cape York 2004 like it was yesterday.

like I said the other day, I had a big speech planned out but chickened out. It would have help some new members to understand your dedication to the sport of trailriding-if they don’t already.

This helmet is from all OBT members. You have helped most of us at some stage and we all appreciate it.

I look forward to many more klm of riding with you!!!! ;)

Only sorry I couldn’t be there to see the tear in your eye when it was presented.

That is a trick looking helmet. Makes me what a custom paint job now. I am about due for a new lid so may have to look into it.

As for a display helmet in the living room. No way in hell I would get that past my other half :(
