July 24, 2013 at 8:05 pm #246889For those in the Newcastle area there will be a Sherco dealer in Raymond terrace in the next couple of months so you will be able to see these in the flesh
July 24, 2013 at 8:19 pm #246895Saw a few piccy’s of these over the weekend
I see they will be using the WP forks.
Was a bit concerned to see no kicker??
Cheers

I think they are listening, I mean that’s marketing and they are in the business of making and selling what the public want and what they can sell the most of and makes the most money. Sadly for you mate they aren’t listening to you buying 6 year old second hand bikes    Sorry
I think these are a super horny looking thing, but like the majority of the trail bike market it seems I am over 2 strokes, was a great part of growing up but the vibration shits me because I am old
and cant ride one hard enough anymore :pinch: . I liked Mals Sherco and I like the brand and reckon they would be a good second brand to have at a bike shop with a main stream brand HB.
Why would the kicker be left of, if it was to save weight I would reckon there would be more weight in the battery, starter and cables wouldnt there  Guess maybe in the extreme going a button is easier on the side of a hill
and with light weight batteries who knows how much the weight difference is?

July 25, 2013 at 1:04 am #246925One day I might look at a 2014 Model bike. As long as your out there having a go doesnt matter what you ride, I had a ball riding my 6 year old vibrating 2 stroke on the weekend  I think the 2 strokes are making a come back, you see more and more of em in the Bush nowadays, even Murph is debating whether he should get one. The extreme enduro’s are becoming very popular and the majority of these riders are on 2 strokes. Dont get me wrong, I do like riding 450’s but I am not fit enough to ride singles for 5-6 hours on one
Back on subject, The Sherco does look very Good but has some stiff competition coming its way. Beta is being talked up as being Awsome. The new Gasgas has had a total re-vamp and has all the good stuff on it. I havnt seen an Ossa yet but when it does reach our shores it will have the Potential to be a game changer. KTM and Berg always at the top of the tree. The future looks good for the two smokers
(bring on DI)
FWIW the Sherco starter is incorporated into the casings of the engine its not a separate unit, from all reports its a very reliable unit (unlike the problematic KTM/Berg starters) Guess time will tell.

If this is true , there should never be a problem.
Still would like a kicker as back up though. :blink:July 25, 2013 at 2:04 am #246929July 25, 2013 at 2:52 am #246892I want one! I want one! I want one! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Especially now Berg (read: slightly unusual “Blue” 2 banger) is no longer gonna be available … this is a real contender for the “next” for me. Maybe 2015 model though??

July 25, 2013 at 8:57 am #246930July 25, 2013 at 9:08 am #246894sorry for hi jacking in my last thread, the 2 strokes do look cool, but I spend enough time on the ground riding a 4 stroke so i would proberly spend more time on the ground riding a 2 stroke but as I said I would be interested in a 4 stroke

There will be no Geese in this house. :silly:
Turkeys maybe. :pinch:
Sorry just thinkin that my Kato and even 2T’s have all that starter motor an the left is all. :pinch: :pinch: :pinch: :pinch:
Definately like the idea of a more permanent starter though.
Unlike the “add on extra” (after thought) that seems to be the way with the Kato’s
Cheers
