    Hey all you techno wizzards.
I’m using Cyberlink Power Director version 8 and have had success with making movies until now.
I have a movie on the Timeline already to go but when I move to Pruduce (rendering) it tells me I don’t have enough disc space. (This is the process before actually burning a DVD)
There is a pie graph at the bottom of the page that states the disc space is roughly 75% full leaving only about 24GB. My movie runs for 34 miutes and is 35GB.
Question is: How do I delete what ever is choking up the disc space?
    Any help appreciated

    Murph,

You need to run your “disk cleanup” programme.

Go to “Start” “All Programs” “Accessories” “System Tools” “Disk Cleanup”

This gives you a choice of what to delete off the hard disk in the way of superfluous files.

If your system is running slow you could run “Disc Defragmenter” as well. Run that one when your not busy on the computer.

    Good luck

PS I ran it on mine and got 10GB of extra space.

    Adam.

    Thanks Adam
Did that and yes it gave me another 11GB of free space but what I need to do is clear the disc space in the Power Director program, me thinks.

    Murph,

I use version 11 however I noticed in the cyberlink/powerdirector/11 folder a folder called “ShadowEditFiles”. It had copies of videos that had been used for editing. Mine are no longer needed as I’ve deleted the original videos off the cards and made the movie (the copy I want).

Being a different version things may be different.

    Adam.

    Sorry Adam
You may have been right the first time
I am getting rid of a lot of Go Pro clips off the desktop now 24GB actually and saving it to an external hard drive.
Will let you know if this frees up some space.

Removed the footage off the Desktop, then the Power Director wouldn’t open my movie.
Luckily I saved the footage to an external hard drive other wise all would be lost, :S
Anyway, I am rendering now and it seems there is enough disc space.
Am rendering it in windows AVI, I think thta is the one you can burn it to DVD and watch it on the TV
    I’ll get back to you.
    Cheers

Sounds like you are on the right track Murph. A good tip to keep your pc running as quick as it can is to NOT keep files and folders on your desktop. Setup up shortcuts to folders if you like but keep all root files in your my documents folder or another that you set up. This will make a big difference to the speed of your computer and also its stability.

    Thanks fella’s
I have successfully burnt a few copies and I am once again happy. :)
Will get rid of all the crap I have on the desktop as removing some of this made all the difference.
    Cheers
