I thought it would be a good idea with the upcoming nave ride not too far away to take the Husky for run & get some time in the saddle.
I met up with Greg & Moose at Wauchope & after a quick chat we were of. I had an idea where we would head for part of the ride. As I had done this part with Toes a couple of weeks ago. The rest would be trial & error & hope it all comes together.
The Husky was going great. But when we stopped here Moose noticed what looked like oil on the radiator. With further investigation. We realized it was brake fluid coming out of the front brake reservoir. So a quick tighten & that problem fixed.

So we headed of again finished the 1st part of the ride & now it was into the unknown.
I had spoken to Ralph from Seaview about some tracks near where we came out on the Oxley Hwy & it turns out he owns some property a few Ks up the road from where we were & there is a track that will take us up into Bulga State forest & towards Ellenbourough Falls, Elands.
So we headed for Ralph’s property went through the gate & as we were sitting there checking on direction Moose again says where’s the cap of your rear brake reservoir. So after a bit of quick thinking from Greg we used the foil out of a cigarette packet & cable tie as the rubber stopper was still in, this was just to stop dust getting in.

So of we go again into some unknown territory & some of the best riding all day.
Anyway I had managed to get through every creek crossing without any drama but came around a corner & hit a puddle (living up to my name when it comes to puddles) dropped the Husky. Managed to break the mirror & bend the gear lever back onto the foot peg. I just stood there not believing what I had done while Moose & Greg were having a bit of chuckle about me living up to my name. So I thought how do I fix this. So I kicked the lever & it started to bend back so a couple more kicks & off we went.
We ended up at Elands for a great hamburger. Then headed of towards Comboyne then into Bago & home.
We ended up doing 280k’s for the day. Had awesome day riding, think I’ve shaken all the bugs out of the Husky now although Moose thinks anything laying on the ground now properly has fallen of the Husky

With everything falling off including the rider, any one would think this was a product review on a Chinese bike.

Don’t mind me, I am only bitter that you guys were out riding while I was at work.

Good ride report Puddles, good to hear you guys found some new stuff.

Well done, had a look at that route last night and there is some good stuff in it. Best advice with that Husky after watching Wolfman when he had his 630 is loctite the shit out of every nut and bolt. I actually drilled and lock wired his subframe bolts which wouldnt stop falling out until lock wired ;)

I guess puds you didn’t just have to be there to enjoy the fruits falling off the huski. Your reputation really does lead the pack. Thanks for a great day out though, I really enjoyed it. Great first trip for me out with someone on the KLR. Cheers
