I’ve got a Dunlop 606 on the front of the Tiger. It has started to heel and toe quite badly (it has done about 7,000k)

Is it ok to reverse it or should it always run the same way as the direction arrow?

    Hey Wigster

I always thought “Heel & Toe’ was a country and western dance.

Mate if you got 7000k’s from your front tyre (being an offroad knobby on a 200kg+ bike) you would have to be happy with that

Not wanting to hijack your thread but it would be good to get some feedback on k’s reached on various types of tyres being used on different Adv bikes. I recently put some D603’s front and rear on my WR450 Adv. and literally trashed the rear on a 400k ride – if lucky will get 1 more ride out of it the front might get 2 more. At this stage will definitely go back to a D606

I’ve just been out in the rain and checked the odo. It’s actually closer to 5k’s on the 606. Still not bad as you say for a knobby on a 200 kilo bike. There is still a bit of life in it. Was only 100 bucks too.

I have run Kenda big blocks and Mitas E10 on the rear of the Tiger. About 5k max for both.

On my Transalp I ran Heidenau K60’s. 15k easy on the rear. Good tyres, but I don’t like the centre strip on the new ones that fit the Tiger. Not aggressive enough anyway for OBT rides.

Try a 908 Rally Raid on the front of Tiger. The Tiger I have been riding it again  has one and the last one did over 5k and that included ol mate taking it to Phillip Island (most bitumen)

The Heel and Toeing is supposed to be from braking

Plinz 606’s aren’t what they used to be, they are being made in Thailand now and since I have experienced chucking, knobs splitting and throwing knobs

Had a tyre on the vstrom once for the Nabiac ride.was brand new,got half way there and someone pointed at it saying wtf.Worked out that it cost about $1.50 per klm.
wasn’t happy. The front fitted at the same time is still ok.
New rear one has done good 4000 ks and is due for replacement.

I reversed mine after about 1200km and have got another 3000 out of it since then.

    Time for replacement I think.

Once I reversed it it did feel better than before so I reckon go ahead and reverse it.
