    Hi all

I bought a new Christini DS 450 a few months ago but due to various reasons including broken rib – stuffed right knee & ankle injuries I have only just got around to sorting this Bike out. Its setup with the Rekluse Z Start auto clutch, Relkuse LHR Brake system, all the protection guards (sump & brakes guards etc) and 53 T rear sprocket for crawling around, Garmin 650 GPS, FMQ? exhaust with the power bomb header and Kevlar heat protector. Just waiting for the Government approval for ADR compliance for NSW full rego. Its also got a FCR carby conversion with the R & D Power bowl fitted to stop the BOG problem at low throttle usage.

However, try as I might I cannot eliminate completely the BOG even with the Power Bowl. I have yet to fit the heavy duty spring to the throttle mechanism on the top RHS of the Carby. Is the fitment of this spring essential to the eliminating of the BOG problem ?? ( the Christini 450 motor is a close copy of the Honda CRF 450X – say 2006/08 model – similar to that found in the Odes 450 trail bike)

Can any off you lads out there – with more mechanical (especially with FCR Carbies) help me out with this problem – especially if you have a Honda CRF 450X with a R & D Power Bowl conversion). The low speed stalling is a PITA especially compared to my 2012 Husaberg FE 570 ( with the lot) fuel injection.

The modified Christini 450 has much better performance than the stock bike but is way less power than my fully serious FE 570 (estimate somewhere near 60 rwhp)

Any advice on the Carby tuning would be appreciated

    Thanks

    Ross

    Ross,

    Try this link

    http://www.dirtbikemagazine.com/ME2/dirmod.asp?sid=&nm=&type=news&mod=News&mid=9A02E3B96F2A415ABC72CB5F516B4C10&tier=3&nid=619AB3D4098C46D29DCE1D7E17274D8F

I’ve been playing with one of Sam’s mates KTM 450 which was having idling problems which I finally sorted and the AC pump is first cab off the rank tomorrow as it’s suffering that snap of the throttle bog.

I hope it helps both you and me :P

    Adam.

    Thanks Adam

I read this link and some other info of the high resistance return spring. I guess I will have to install it to get the full benefit of the Power Bowl. There is little or know room to get the carby off the bike with the extra frame etc for the 2WD system so rear shock and air box will have to be removed. PITA!!!

    Thanks again

    Ross
