    Not sure I’ve posted this in the right spot, but anyway here goes.

    I’m working on a project plumbing a pair of rotopax as auxiliary fuel tanks.

    But need to know average wall thickness of the Rotopaks.

    Can anyone shed some light on this, maybe you’ve seen inside a rotopax that split, doubtful I know but worth a try

    You might be in luck mudrat :whistle: but it might not help :blink:
    It all depends where on the tank you are looking at , they can vary from 10 to 25 mm at some points due to the rotamould process, generally it’s the top that ends up being thinner and the bottom is thicker because that’s where all the pressure is.

    from what I’ve been told (haven’t purchased rotopax yet), they are around 2.5/3.00 around the neck.

    surely there not that 10. to 25. mm around the bottom, would make fitting the insert a breeze, as I need a minimum of 3.mm for it to work.

    plan is to plumb a rotopax in the same way as a Nomad Tank.

    Why plumb it up ? cant you just stop and empty them into your tank ? that way you can lose the weight off the rear end sooner rather than have it splash around on the back.

    I have used the rotopax but didn’t take a good look at thickness, my answer to your question would only be a guess sorry mate.

    Can you use washers, spacers or O rings to help get you the right thickness ?

    removing the Rotopax with Steel Pony’s fitted would be a PITA and a time waster. plus I need to drain the Tanks on the 990 to below half, for the rotopax to gravity feed to front crossover fuel line.

    I have both the 1 gallon and 1/2 gallon rotopax.

    The big ones are only thin plastic. 2 or 3mm at a guess.

    The smaller ones do not have an airvent in them and are much thicker, 3 to 5mm at a guess.
