    G’day all,

I got a flat and finally got around to changing it tonight. In the process I pinched it twice, I need the bike tomorrow, do you reckon a bicycle repair kit will do the job? Also if has anyone ever encountered a bulging tube??? I blew one up and its bulging in one section whilst the rest of it remains uniform.

    Any advice would be gold.

    Cheers

Let some air out and the bulge will go away.

    Your welcome

In Sth West Sydney, do you think the bicycle repair kit patches will do the job?

Bike repair kit will work ;) Might pay to rip into a supercheap and get some tyre slyme as insurance.

No worries, any tips on how not to pinch the tube, I only have flat head screwdrivers to replace the tyre with….

If its a UHD tube the patches don’t seem to take that well.
I tried it on a ride to orange with TB when it wet flat the second time he killed for ever.
Put a 21 front in and it lasted till I got home 300+ kms
Not really the worth the effort if you have a front just stick that in.
That was assuming your dealing with a rear

I only have the one tube. I will see how I go if I can get it to hold pressure tonight I will replace it if not I’ll buy a new tube in the morning.

    Cheers for your help everyone.

I agree with Chicken for some reason they dont like the UHD tubes

Why would you use screw drivers for changing a tyre ? do yourself a favour and get a couple of sets of these http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/T7TO4N0TL/title/torpedo7-260mm-tyre-lever-set—2pc
they are good quality and make sure your technique is correct, ie make sure the bead is is down in the well, if you are struggling, your doing something wrong.

Patches wont stick I am told to UHD tubes because of the high real rubber content in the tube. Also remember that UHDs lose pressure over time because the rubber leaches the air slowly ;)

just for into too a mate of mine works at a tyre joint and says all tubes from standard to UHD and moto to tractor type bulge on one side. But when they’re in the carcass of the tyre they’re not going to do it ay ;)

WHen you get that new tube grab some tyre levers as well, that will reduce the risk of piinches. Also take care to only put the minimum amount of the lever you can to minimise the pinch risk. Try to just use the bent tip at the end of the lever.
