Wow got to ride the 2014 Sherco 300 today and I have to say i got a bit excited. I love my tight single trails and while I thought my crf 250x was the best bike i had have ridden in the forrest but its a slug compared to the Sherco.

It seemed an odd bike to ride at first, part weapon part your best friend but once I started to understand what a different bike it was to the CR it really started to show me how to ride. Unbleieveable suspension, more grunt than a constipated elephant, incredible clutch and brakes that pale into insignifigance when compared to the bikes weigh,t geometry and sheer ability to respond to what you want to do with it.

One of these is heading for my shed, I just have to grow the balls to tell the minister for war peace and finance so it may be next year or the year after.

Thanks Matt from Bikes and Bits for letting me ride it. An absolute buzz

I’m hearing ya Snowy , I loved the Beta 300 2T and if I had the choice I’d have my Crf and the Beta in the shed but I reckon when fridge hill gets wet you’ll find traction is missing and hard to find on the 2 banger and you’ll be asking Boony if you can borrow the Kato to get to the top :)

Have both mate !!! It’s the answer :D

300 four stroke. Light as a mountain bike and really great power delivery. They stop like nothing else. Yes I know same brakes a the KATO. But jeez they pull up good

I rode Mals 300 Sherco, they are gutless bikes for whimps.

If you really want to get a boner ride a new Berg or Kato 450.

Seriously they are a great bike and I can see why you think they shit all over your jap 250. They feel very similar to ride to my brothers 310 Husky, only problem is you have to change gears too often.

I didn’t like the 350 Beta because it was so much like a 310 Husky and you’ve got no torque just high end power felt like a race bike more than a trail bike.

For enduro/ trail I reckon the low torque and mid range wins hands down. 400 Beta has it sorted :)

I like the look of the 450 Sherco (for a 4 stroke  )

Well I too went for a spin on the Sherco.

As a 500 rider I kinda thinkin like LC but as I was riding a 300 it would be the weapon upgrade for anyone who has a jap 250. It is sooo lite 102kg the power was there but you cant ride it like a 500.

So I’d say it’s lite, Ninble, Good power delivery, great leaner or 250 jap bike upgrade.

Bear in mind that’s the 2nd (Husky) 300 I have ridin in 2 years both short rides. I love the 500 power.

    Thanks Matt for the ride

Here is the 300 trying to tame me
