I had problems last weekend while pre running the next ride and we had to call it quits as I got stuck In a bad place for about 15min with the bike not starting it had been giving me trouble all day and getting worse today I looked for the problem and this is what I found.

this is the under shot of my clutch handle pulled apart it was very full of dirt and not making good connection with the clutch switch causing the bike not to start

this is the switch connector that the clutch switch slides along

    the other side of it

I removed the cables and put the switch back together (I may need to reattach to sell the bike) I then soldered the wires together then heat shrink and cable tied into a good spot ill never have this problem again I just need to remember to pull the clutch before starting but that won’t be a problem because i’m not restarted

I highly recommend doing this and removing the kick stand switch even if you have never had a problem as I have had problems with both its easy to fix at home then on the trail I hope this helps you any questions please ask

    :)

    ah mate bugger!

I pissed all that bullshit off mine when i put it back together in 2012.. I have zero chances if the rego inspector goes over it properly. I was breathing a sigh of relief this year (no inspection required) Chopped out all the wiring.. no sidestand no clutch safety. no hope of it ever going back on either
I have a spare unused clutch contact strip and side stand switch if your need em
