Mucking about in the air conditioning today and installed a little app on the samsung galaxy S4.

The app is called Androzic, its free and it handles oziexplorer map files which are easy to find. It loads the track files from the nav rides no problems, will leave a snail trail of your ride, drop waypoints and is pretty easy to get the hang of.

Looking for a cheap GPS option or a second GPS for the dirtbike then just take your phone.

I purchased oziexplorer years ago and its quite good as well, harder to use but does more for $25

This app has another cool feature which is share location.

wherever you are, hit share location and it will send your GPS co-ordinates to anyone via text message, facebook etc. etc etc

The person on the recieving end can just paste those co-ordinates into the same app, drop a waypoint and head in your direction. Very cool little feature if you have phone reception.

Very cool. Having the share thing could help if you were in trouble. But I do have the spot for when me or someone on the trail needs help. (reminder add new battery’s).

I run OziExplorer on my phone as well. The phone is more accrete than my Trailtech on the bike.

I`ve had Androzic on my phone for a few months and it works ok,, especially for a free app ;)
Yet to test it out in the scrub though….

I also have Memory Map on the same phone as a backup and you can download free Hema 4WD maps to use on it, so service is no problem if you want to look at the map anytime (as long as you have pre downloaded it of course)
I have the Eastern Australia map downloaded for reference…..

Can never have too many maps if the GPS shits itself 😆

Anyone using an offroad GPS apps on their iphone for trail riding? Setting up some maps etc for nate. Will give memory map a quick look. Needs to be able to export gpx or kml files for use in basecamp and import same.
