I am heading up to check out the Karuah River Rally at Frying Pan just out of Dungog this year.
Unable to make the Feb Nav Ride :( but this is the following weekend.
My plan is a ride up via the dirt on the sat leaving mid morning ,counter lunch at Dungog then onto the camp early arvo.
Meeting up with Oldfatbeerman (Al), Mudrat and a couple of others at the rally on the sat arvo as they are off on a ride on the Friday but calling in on the way back.

If anyone is interested and available, feel free to join in ;)

Rally cost is $25 a head which covers camp cost, a badge and BBQ brekky on the sunday.
There will be softdrinks and a sausage sizzle on the sat arvo/evening.
Supplies (Beer etc) can be picked up in Dungog on the way in

I intend to carry the usual camp meals, cooking gear extra water etc (just in case) and suggest all do something similar as the rally is 30 odd klms out of town in the mountains…
Also a collapsible cooler bag for some roadies from the pub T Dungog ;)

    Riders list:
    Eagle
    James
    Wigster
    Farrier (in pencil)

I thought this was a BMW thing Eags , do they welcome all bikes.

I also can not go on the up coming Nav ride :pinch: finances don’t allow it at the moment but any shorter time frame, day rides/ cheaper local outings I would be keen if your interested ;)

    Cheers James

Yeah it is the Beemer club of NSW mate (So Ace would fit right in with the Latte machine

All welcome, any kind of bike welcome. No need to book, can just turn up on the day ;)
    Seriously James,
if you are thinking of this as a possibility let me know and we can make a half decent ride out of it. Can do a loop back a different way on the Sunday across to Buladelah, Karuah and back and still be home fairly early if you need to be.

Hey Eags, I might be up for this one even though it’s the week end after the nav ride.

Haven’t been to the Karuah rally before so keen to check it out.

What time would you be leaving in the morning mate?

No firm plans just yet mate on leave time, just mid morning to arrive at Dungog for a counter lunch.
Was waiting till the week before to make firm plans if anyone else was tagging along.

Same offer goes to you mate that I made to James,
Welcome to crash at my place on the Friday night if it makes things easier. Rumpus room downstairs is now cleaned out and room for couple of stretcher beds (which I have here).

Let me know closer to the time Wigs , no rush.
Missus did remind me that the Sunday is my son`s birthday, so I will aim to be back in Newy at lunchtime (approx) B)

Thankyou for the kind offer Eags ;) but I think I would probably head up through St albans on the Saturday morning get a bit of a dirt ride in along the way, rather than heading up the freeway, especially if Wigster decided to join us, think he hails from the city somewhere  , he more or less has to go straight past my place we could meet you along the way somewhere perhaps

Thanks for the offer Eags. It might be pushing it to be away Friday night as well, given my absence the w/e before!

If I can make it I’ll hook up with James as he suggested on sat morning. I am on the northern beaches James by the way.

We could meet you up at Dungog by lunch time mate no problems. I do like a good rally. It means I can bring my Kermit chair.

690 is prepped and packed, air & pre filter cleaned and whacked back in this arvo.
The southerly change has started to roll through this evening but should be cleared by sat well & truly so the dust will hopefully be settled a tad before we head on up

How you looking after the weekends jaunt Wigster ?
If your in I need to email you the routes I prepped before Friday mate ;)

James has gone quiet, but he`s as keen as a mad rat in a cheese factory I think 😆

Oh yeah, mental note,,, email routes to TB ,,, on the way tonight mate as promised B)

    No worries Greg,
We will be hitting Dungog around lunchtime for a countery and a beer and roadies before heading up to camp.
I`m on a 690R and will have James on a black Tenere and hopefully Wigster on a Blue Tenere.
Keep an eye out for a Teknik Racing or Adventure Moto T Shirt ;)

    See ya there
