Great weekend. :woohoo:
Big thanks to Squigs and Jonsa for both leading and sweeping.
Good to meet some new faces and ride with some familar crew as well.
I’m back at work but brought the wrong lead for my camera so what ever pics I took will have to wait.
Did some nice trails both days and was really glad the rivers were there to cool off, especially the one at camp where we spent all afternoon lounging in the cool water with drinks in hand.
I’m sure there will be tales to tell from other crew so I’ll leave it up to them.
Cheers

Some of the boys cooling off at one of the river crossings
Reese at the last river crossing before he had to pull the pin due to a stipped spline on his gear shift.
Jason with a flat rear tyre. I hope you didn’t decide to ride all the way back to camp. I have tried to ride 15kms on a flat rear and totally destroyed the tyre. Had to get the pliers out to cut the tyre wires from my brake and sprocket. (What a mess) Then I proceeded to destroy my rim lock. (lesson learnt)
Our sweep for the day (or at least most of it) Mr Squiggle.
That all folks
Cheers
MurphFebruary 3, 2014 at 10:31 am #253852Thanks for the ride guys. Very well organized, great company and lots of laughs. What a great campsite. Some great tracks out there. Those hills are super long. Us Dubbo boys did alright for flat landers ha ha! Speaking of, we got home at 10.30pm after an 18hr day. Did squiggle find his keys?
Looking forward to another spin in that forest. Maybe when it’s had some rain!February 3, 2014 at 10:36 am #253853Great weekend thanks to Squigs and Jonsa for putting together a couple of great days of riding. My first of many OBT rides. It was great to meet some top blokes and agreed Murph the swimming hole was definitely well used. Great pics fellas and vids see you all soon.
Maybe next time someone can bring Squiggle a key box? What do you think Jonsa?February 3, 2014 at 10:50 am #253863Please explain the key issue?????
Boony
February 3, 2014 at 11:07 am #253821A Great ride, Mr S & Jonsa.
I have not ridden Barrington for along while, one of its features are never ending up & down hills .
First up Saturday hill number x out of Frying Pan did not disappoint. I think it brought everyone undone. I remember that someone said “yeah it was easy yesterday” . I guess I got my day wrong..
After the first hill the ride progressed well, one memorable short nearly vertical downhill ( that’s what it is now, after the debrief back at camp ). This brought a few unstuck – yep gravity suxs.
Experienced a flat front tyre, however had many willing helping hands to repair it thanks to Boze for the new HD tube & Smurf for the gas to fill it. Took about 10 minutes to get the gang going again. KATO sure handled better with air in the front.
The rest of the ride was free flowing thru some neat singles a fire trails, the rising temp taking its toll on us not quite so fit chappies.
Arrived back at frying pan to some extremely nice cold beers , a sit in the creek & a bit of lunch.
I have some pics of the after ride creek, will post them when my net connection gets back up to speed.
10/10

Oh & BTW did I mention how much Boony enjoyed his new stead.. KTM350 yeah -Ha
February 3, 2014 at 11:10 am #253864Key issue
No KTM350’s don’t have keys.
Could have been the heat, that’s my best guess :silly: :silly: :silly:
February 3, 2014 at 11:49 am #253866Wow what can I say top weekend. Thanks Squiggle & Jonsa ya done good. Interesting riding and top company. If that’s a warm dusty ride cant wait for some moisture. shame I didn’t do the whole loop on day 2 but needed to be home before 10pm.
How come Boony is pushing his bike from the rear??? cant be the carby this time.
A quick vid
