Dont know if this is in the right section but here we go any way, i have 2 boys and the eldest always gets the new bike and the youngest getys the hand me down as there is 20 months difference between the 2 any way ive had a trusty 08 ktm 65 which has been lowered (as my boys suffer from a disease that i suffer from …..short arse syndrome) we have had it 18 months now and its never missed a beat but its been passed down to the next . so i thought id do it up for him so this is what i started with

i stripped it down to nothing and started with a top end rebuild with a wiseco piston kit
i ended up getting a bud racing head , vforce reeds and a splitstream for the carby off fleabay for $150 i went over the head and smoothed it all out and done a port job on it put it back together

    ended up with this

Looks nice. Only 2 cans to get the motor back in, not bad. Some blokes on here would have gone through six. :woohoo:

Well I hope he appreciates it, my daughter’s pw 80 conked out 2 weeks ago on a ride she had. It’s been sitting down the paddock with grass growing up through it since.

when they come up to and say thanks dad at the end of a days riding thats all i need
they are both diferent boys ones a social rider and one just wants to get better but at the end of the day its something we all do ( including the wife ) ,

Yeah TB it is something i get into ive rebuilt a lot of things over time , the boy wont care if its a 6 year old bike he just sees his “new bike” being built and plus he helps as well and gets to understand about looking after what you have
