I have read on another forum that many Adv`ers on here also frequent, that a punter has gone over the edge with his V Strom at Monaghans Bluff on the Bridal Track :blink:
He is reportedly alive and was conscious at the bottom (Stuffed if I know how) :ohmy: and was helivacced to hospital…
For those of us that have ridden that trail and seen the rockfall area, it is a damn big drop down that cliffface to the Macquarie River.
Yes, the trail was signposted as closed to traffic and has been for a number of years, but some still seem to be attempting to pass through there and this will only now add to the authorities argument to have permanent barriers positioned at each end I reckon !!!
I do hope old mate recovers from his mishap, also hope he doesn`t find he is required to pay in full for his chopper rescue (which is highly likely seeing the trail was “closed”) :S
More sad to see yet another great piece of riding and historically rich trail lost, most than likely forever to us like minded riders
