Has anyone ridden or have any experience with the Gas Gas EC 450 Raid with the Yamaha 450 engine ?

This bike looks and sounds the goods for an avid adv rider wanting to go a bit lighter ( 123kg dry weight)
    and 32 ltr fuel capacity.

Trying to source one in Australia.

Check out the website info, it looks like one hell of a bike.

    Any news would be welcome.

    regards to all,
    Tenere Shane

Just had a look at the gas gas site, just buy it!! That would be SOOO much fun on fire trails and open single track. Have you got a price from anyone yet, looks expensive

Man, That is the bike the Spanish girl Laia Sainz rode at Dakar isn`t it ??

Wouldn`t much change out of 55k to land one in Aus I reckon :S
I could be wrong, but would be surprised juat the same

    I agree,

What a bike for the tight stuff, it has Marzocchi firms, Ohlins rear shock etc etc.
I am trying to get a price currently.

The issue preventing the sale of this bike in Australia, is that Yamaha will not allow it I understand ( to be sold here that is with the Yamaha engine ).

The other issue may be ADR compliance.

But what a bike, with 32 ltrs aboard, it would have some range I bet.
The new KTM Rally is 24,000 Euro’s, so I would suspect that the Gas Gas would be less than that.
Only guessing at this stage, but I will pass on any info or pricing I can obtain .

    regards,
    Tenere Shane

    Yeah Shane,
Even at 36k Aus, then there would be import taxes and ADR compliance if possible :S
Good luck with your search for info and availability.

I`m sure it would be a magnet for admirers if you managed to secure one out here mate ;)

You could buy my 640 enduro, I could set it up for adv and you would have $26k to spare! :p suspension is already set up for 180kg load. 320mm front disc and trail tech speedo.

I own the 2011 450, and just spoke to the importer about a week or two ago.

He said he didn’t have any four strokes at all in stock.

These bikes are understated in this country, mine is just so good to ride.

Assembly quality assurance is dodgy as fk though. The things I have found have been amazing (in a bad way).

Old Pablo the bull fighter on a Friday arve did mine, that’s for sure.

Info is that ex factory in Spain is 15,500 Euro. Then there is exchange rate – add another third to get it into Oz dollars.

Then add import duty, freight costs etc etc etc.

We are now around the 25k mark.

The worst thing is it cant be registered in Oz without an engineers certificate etc etc etc.

I will just keep dreaming I guess, but what a bike.
If I dream of the bike AND Laia Sanz …. arrrgghhhh… what a package !!

    regards,
    Shane
