Well where do I start. I have been wanting to do this trip for quite a few years now, but the stars would never align for me.
Originally it was planned 4 of us would be going. However in the weeks leading up to it one had to drop out due to work commitment’s & the other silly goose decided to go for a bush ride only a week out & have a fight with a tree branch, which he lost, so that left just 2 of us. Too much planning had gone into this not to go.

    Day 1.
Not much sleep the night before, So Greg was at my place just after 6 & we were of just before 7 with a request from the King to drop in on the way past.
So after a quick drop into his majesty we headed of for a first night stop of Narrabri. The first part to Bendemeer was just boring black top, from there it was to Manilla to link up a route TB had given us to Narrabri this section was fun. Got Narrabri about 4 found somewhere to stay & went & fuelled the bikes up returned to the motel & this is where there is some speculation that the Terra might have fallen over. But no photo’s to prove if it did or didn’t so it never happened.

    Day 2.
Up early again. Heading to Bourke for our next night stop. This would see us head out via Wee Waa & Pilliga. When we got to Pilliga the locals were telling us they have had a bit of rain & the road we wanted to take to Walgett being black soil may not be passable. We decided to chance it anyway & glad we did what a great ride. Once we got to Walgett we headed along to road to Goodooga to link up another of TB’s routes that would take us to Brewarrina then onto Bourke, this section was absolutely fantastic.

    Day 3.
Heading for Thargomindah via Hungerford this was another great route that Tb had supplied. Just on section was a concern the signs kept saying no through road, no access. Stop check map road doesn’t show on map ok all good let’s just follow the purple line on the GPS. This road was overgrown on some places washed out in others just kept following the line eventually w popped out at Hungerford.
Pulled up outside the pub at Hungerford the place was all quite & didn’t seem to be anyone around next thing a voice says a couple of steak sandwiches for you guys. Couldn’t say no to that. Lunch had bikes fuelled we headed for Thargomindah. Arrived at Thargomindah about 3, sign outside the pub said shut till 5. Crap what are we going to do for 2hrs. So we decided to head to a little place called Noccundra about 140k’s up the road. What a great little spot to pull up for the night great feed. Only thing there is the pub.

    Day 4
From Noccundra it is only 280k’s to the cnr but we decided to go back onto the route as we wanted to go via the dig tree. What a disappointed the development road is now, the mines a pushing to have this sealed & it is tar for all but 50k’s to Innamincka.
We done the run to Innamincka with the stop over at the dig tree. Seen all these people walking around with fly nets on their hats & thought how silly do they look. Well the ones looking silly was us because within 10 seconds of taking our helmets of we were covered in flys & wanting to roll one of the people steal there fly net.
After the dig tree we headed for Innamincka for a refuel then onto Cameron Cnr. The run to the Cnr was fantastic once I found my sand riding mojo the sand hills were great great fun.
Got to the Cnr on a high after the great run through the sand. Met Fen & Cheryl. Had a great night on the cans with Fen what a character he his.

    Day 5.
Up with a hangover heading for White Cliffs via Tibooburra.
However the night before a few people we had been talking to said there had been rain on the road to White Cliffs & the road was chopped up. The road was wet in places but not too bad into White Cliffs. However the closer we got to White Cliffs the clouds where building & was looking like it was going to rain. Once we got there we had to make a decision head towards Cobar or back to Bourke. Cobar won as the road to Bourke via Wanaaring had been closed due to weather a couple of days earlier & we were not sure if it was open or if it was how it would be.
The run to Cobar was all tar, but the last 200k’s in the dark something I would never do again dodging the roos was worse than dodging the goats. Common sense would have said pull up on the side of the road & camp but sometimes we throw common sense away.
Nearly 800k’s covered with a hangover not fun.

    Day 6.
Woke up with a voice in my head plan for the unexpected & have a backup plan. (piss of TB your right but annoying). I didn’t have a backup plan.
So basically that called an end to our adventure the maps I had weren’t good enough to try & plan for a back road run from Cobar to home. So we hit the black top to Gunnedah.

    Day 7.
No much to say here just a run to arrive safely home.

No next trip for me TB.
one thing you have when you do these rides is a lot of time to think & the Terra even though it is a great bike to ride.
Riding bikes has cost me a lot. time of work due to injury, my family & a lot of money.
So the Terra is up for sale & my riding days are finished
