Well,
As some may or may not have read on Wolfie`s thread, We have had a real bad couple of weeks here at home :dry:The good wife was diagnosed with Breast cancer and all tests and scans we have had were pointing to a cancerous mass, more than likely already spreading through the Lymph glands under her arm and spreading into the arm or elsewhere :pinch:
Finally got to the surgeon today and he is a real crackerjack doc with fantastic facilities and reputed as one of the best to see in NSW possibly Australia.
More ultrasounds were done along with needle biopsy and 10 mins later the confirmation that it is cancer that needs surgery, but no sign of suspicious activity spreading
No guarantees of course until surgery which is scheduled for next Wed and the pathology results come back.6 weeks of daily Radiotherapy to get through after that and we should be on the clear stretch into the future
Also landed my first job interview since losing my job at Easter, so pretty pumped after todays more positive news…
Thanx to those guys that have been supportive (it has been a pretty low key scene the past week) but the moral support is very humbling and actually brought the wife close to tears to have people she hasn`t met giving support and well wishes …
Enough from me tonite, I have some serious revision to do on the resume tonight for an early meeting tomorrow,,,

Oh and good luck on the job interview. I was trying to find a little cartoon sketch, but cannot find it, went something like
Probably shouldn’t remember this one for tomorrow!
Interviewer: What do you see as your worst feature or asset
Job seeker: My honesty
Interviewer: I don’t see that as a bad thing.
Job Seeker: I don’t give a f*ck what you think. :whistle:June 26, 2014 at 10:34 am #257869All the best mate with it all.

June 26, 2014 at 11:10 am #257870All good guys
Thankyou all for the thoughts , it has been a tough time for sure, but I have learnt a lot since departing my last job about control, self care & the power of positive thinking
As I said to Ace tonight, my guts have been kicked hard more than 3 times the past couple of months, so that`s 3 strikes
I set myself some goals and planned to follow a couple of paths from different directions regarding my jobsearch and doing it on my own as far as possible (all the while knowing I have some great support on call if needed on here & also elsewhere) These goals seem to have helped me deal with the cancer scare as well .Things can only go up from here and I feel like we have turned the corner after today!!!
Thanx again and I will keep you all posted as things progress.
