This morning I decided to finally deal with the massive and ugly numberplate and rear blinker assembly. Some small blinkers on custom right angle brackets, wired in to the standard loom, leaving the original connectors in case anyone ever decides to return it to stock. Then a small bracket for the numberplate including an LED plate light.
Stock on the right, my version on the bike.

Nicely tucked away and hopefully solid enough to last several thousand miles of dirt!
So, test ride time!
The loop I chose was about 180 km, so I strapped a small 5 litre can to the back in case, and headed off.
Twelve Mile Road is a great start to trips nearby, and off I went. I have my bike geared down for off-road work, and couldn’t be bothered changing the rear sprocket (46 tooth). I was impressed at how the bike travelled, comfortable at 90-100km/h and more poke than the standard (42 tooth rear) gearing. Won’t be bothering to put the 42 back on now!
Uamby Road is a cracking ride.

And this old banger beside a creek was worth a look and a picture or two.

Anyone want to tell me what it is?

So it was on the track again, down to this crossing over the Cudegong River.

Then back on Twelve Mile Road to Goolma Road (highway), until Lower Piambong Road. This track weaves through some lovely country towards Mudgee.

Cutting across Eurunderie Road to Hill End Road (sealed) and out towards the Cudegong caravan park. Then it was a nice run up Yarrabin Road (dirt) back to Twelve Mile Road and home. I hit reserve at 160km, so didn’t end up using the fuel in my spare tank. About 175km in total.
Great little ride, and at the end my number plate was still attached! Bonus!
Edit: wrong spot, sorry mods, please move this to ride reports!
