For all those who had the chance but declined, ya’s missed a good one.
Big thanks to the Dude, who came along even though it was only a small crew. (most of the time the smaller the crew the better) and this was a fun ride with just the 3 of us.
Did all the singles down to the Basin and rested for a while. A large group of riders joined us from DBW (G-day Nick) and for the best part of the rest of the day we rode a similar route.
Concrete Hill is always fun and we moved on to more challenging tracks. :woohoo:
I have to admit I was feeling a little shagged by the time we got to “Expert Downhill” (Tim showed us that youth has us oldies and there really is no arguement, as he turned around and rode back up said hill, just for the hell of it)) and the run through “Koala Trail” was at a nice easy pace. Nice to splash some cold water over the skull at the creek.
There were a couple of boys struggling out from the creek so we rode past and left them with it. More singles and around to “Bar Hill”. First half was nice and only the Dude had a small stall at the crux.
The second half is always a challenge and I took two attempts to nail it. Of course, Tim smashed it. :S
A gnarly downhill followed and we met up with the Dude again.
Down to the bottom road where we said goodbye to Dude and Tim & I smashed our way up Wave Rock :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: .
From there we did another little sick single and found our way around to Hell Hill. Tim did the straight line all of the way through.  :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: I managed the first set of steps before turning right and opting for the slightly easier line.
Back to the cars via some open stuff.
Loop was about 75kms and it took around 5 and 1/2 hrs.
Considering the Dude left early and if we have a crew of 10 or more this could blow out to 6 or 7 hours. But all is good and we had a ball.
Have a few pics but will wait until I get back to work before I post as my computer has just turned back to 64kbps and I don’t have the patience for that.
All in all, we had a blast :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: With a few sneaky harder sections 👿 But true to my word, these sections can probably be bypassed with a little help from Adam.
Cheers

Murph described the ride good.
OK stand outs for me is basin hill that caught me out on a big boulder I normally do easy… result bike upside down but murph was there to lend a hand so all good :cheer:
But rode OK for the rest of the ride, was getting a bit worn out ( but u get that) and piked the last couple of hills but rode close to 5 hours worth.
Thanks for the invite and leading murph. :cheer: I had a workout and a good day out.
no piccys or vids of this ride cause I know I would only be filming bush and tracks (yes I was the weakest link)     :woohoo:
Your going to have fun in 2 weeks old bulls…………… but due prior commitments I won’t ride the basin….. but will ride Sunday tho. :cheer:
October 11, 2014 at 12:25 pm #259859Good report as always Murph.
Gordon, Sam and I were looking for a ride and had almost decided on yours :cheer:
Sam bailed because of work, then I was informed that I had a BBQ to go to so a half day ride was decided.
Then Sam’s helper pulled out and Sam nominated me as his helper.
Sorry Gordon.
Looking forward to the Murph’s weekend. :woohoo:
Adam.
