Went for a ride over at Rainbow Victoria last weekend. Had been told its a great place to get the sand experience up to par, so thought I’d have a crack. Initially I was to ride my Tenere but was twisted into riding my Wr 450. There’s a creek bed that runs for around 55ks and its got some serious sand woops most of the way through. But starting up near the bridge lead us into the sharper and less spaced out variety which had us in shock. As the day worn on and the woops smoothed out somewhat, you gained some confidence and were able to throttle over them. With my limited sand experience coming back and the sharpness easing you could sit on the rear guard and master them pretty well. Next day we did a loop of around 80ks in an area called the birdcage, it was better than the creek I thought. Would consider this area better for bikes like the Tenere to get some sand feel, all in all a great spot to ride, but you will need plenty of water as we ran out on day one. Take care as may be traffic in both directions as well!! Check it out if you get a chance, you will love Rainbow I am sure of it…. :cheer: :cheer:
