Now that they are ADR approved and they arriving in Australian stores this month, curious to know if anyone has ridden one or know anything about them?
This could very well be Bollocks new ride :woohoo:
Always wanted one but the whole non ADR thing got in the way….but now :cheer:
Bol :woohoo:
January 22, 2015 at 1:03 am #260886Its not a Yamaha Bollocks, you couldn’t kill that Yamaha you had could you? But if you must get one mate, why not
One thing before you do, and I know it is a 250 but hear me out. They have an shit lot of power for a 250 and such a wide spread as well. Get a ride on a new WR250F, a 2015 with the lay back motor. They are amazing, forget the brand thing if it was a Gas Gas I would still say WOW. It is basically a ZY250 with a 6 speed box, lighting and full ADR. Just a thought :whistle:Enjoy whatever you do mate, good luck

Oh and after thought Protty will know all about them, Protty, Protty calling Protty

And yes,i didn’t kill my wr 250f … accredit to Yamaha for that, if I can’t kill a bike ,no one can :laugh:Bol :woohoo:

January 22, 2015 at 1:46 am #260889Yes TB, Protty here, thanks for the call up!
Far be it from me to bag another brand but comparing a WR250 to a RMX450Z?? Well you just can’t, remember bikes are like rifles and fishing rods, there is no perfect one for all occasions, at some stage it becomes a compromise! It’s clear that some blokes are willing to compromise a lot, that’s why there are KTM riders out there.. sorry had to be said.
Ok the new RMX450Z, it’s not just a MX version with compliance so for anyone who has tried to tame a late model moto they are not the same motor. Mr Zuki has modified the inlet tract and dropped a different cam into it to “enhance low and mid range power” and the gearbox carries wider ratios.
The RMX450 that I attempted to race last year was way to stiff in the suspension and after the first half hour of a cross country I was lucky to stay on the thing for any length of time because of how hard the power was delivered. I conceded defeat after Bulladelah and swapped back to a 250 for the rest of the year. This new bike is not just “same dog, different tail”, it will be worth having a look at.
It just so happens we have a demo bike on order so if anyone is keen give me a call at Mud n Tar. The bikes should be here in the next couple of weeks.
Cheers
ProttyJanuary 22, 2015 at 2:46 am #260893Thanks Protty, not comparing either just thought maybe the 250 and his riding / crashing     and like you and your 450 250 experience
Again thanks for the input

January 27, 2015 at 10:24 am #260890To quote a great man get a 450 “they’re as fun as a bag of cats.you don’t need to change gears” !!! Less gear changes equals less maintenance. You know what to do boll! Just thought I would muddy the waters some more.
