It is with great excitemnt we can announe we are off and running with Scrapheap 6

This year the Scrapheap Adventure ride travels to Urana!

The Scrapheap Adventure Ride is a call to all motorcycle collectors and madcap enthusiasts from around the country to join an extraordinary Aussie adventure and raise much needed funds for kids with Down syndrome.

The challenge for hardcore scrappers is to buy a bike for no more than $1000 and fix it up for an adventure ride through the outback. All motorcyclists are welcome and the ride usually gets a great turnout of classic bikes and sidecar rigs as well.
Over the last four years, the ride has raised in excess of $300,000 for Down Syndrome NSW.

New web site and we are ready for registrations.

This is the thread with all the details and a place to talk about your bike builds, and groups.

We have much planned this year including some great rides loops on the Saturday and great Dinner on the Saturday night.

    Keep checking back for updates

Time to break out the trusty old XR 500 and weld up the snapped frame fix the oil leak and work out how the hell we can get from tamvegas to Urana on mainly dirt roads.

    Bring it .

    Fundraising will start real soon.

What’s the go with bikes being registered for road use?

Somewhere I remember that they didn’t need to be, but I cannot find any info on their web site.

    I remember previous years that rego wasn’t a requirement….

If your’re a starter Boony I’ll sling a few $’s ya way :woohoo:

Bikes always were to be registered, either full rego or an UVP – Unregistered Vehicle Permit

Some have come with jury rigged rego / plates etc.

The potential Insurance Liability from injury means riders need to be covered by Registration, have a licence and ride to their own abilities B)
