Gday old bull trail riders ;)

An unfortunate event happened to a mate of mine and this is my version of the story.

Mates son selling his KTM 300 on gumtree and got a few enquiries but me mate said he wanted too much for it at $6k…. It had just ran out of rego so would have been best offer,

anyway a guy turned up when matey was in the back yard and wanted to view the bike ……..

so went and got it and the guy asked usual questions and talked and chatted for a good 10 minutes,

he asked for a test ride and ‘seemed fair dinkum’ so me mate asked for something to idenify him and he handed matey a phone and some keys to his car and stuff.

Fine off he goes and after about 1/2 hour no return so matey sussed out phone that had no contacts or history in it and the credit cards and stuff was found out to be stolen….
    The keys were stolen too.

so thats a scam at the moment so you have been warned…….. sounds a bit like Puddles loss I think.

    That’s horrible.

Selling bikes can be a frustrating thing.

Selling one at the moment and getting so many stupid questions and calls it isn’t funny.

Some are so keen won’t stop calling and what not, then when you give them your address because they say they are 5 minutes away you don’t hear back from them!

MMmm sounds a bit suss to me. Good thing i don’t give them my real address.

If the guy down the road gets robbed ill know its a scam for sure

Same story , slightly diferent details can be heard around the country day after day , only way to stop it is to meet the potential buyer at a park or some other location and they don’t ride till the money is in your hand . Be ready to ride off if the potential buyer turns up and has friends along and looks suss , some will just punch you out and take the bike , so you gotta be ready for some shady characters .

Had a guy come and look at Sam’s bike.

He asked to do a test ride, said if he wanted to ride on the road he had to give me the asking price of the bike (I’ve heard of this scam before).

The young bloke rode it round our back yard. Said he’d like his girlfriend to look at it, when she drove past the gate he hopped in and never heard a word again.

We have his phone number though so if your mate thinks it may be the same person let me know. ;)

    Adam.

Meet outside the local cop shop. Or somewhere you know there are perminant CCTV . A McCucks or the like?

I’m a bit surprised at the rate that greed and selfishness is growing at.

Had a feral bull come in from the forestry and get with the cows. when he seen me he headed for the bush flat chat down the hill. He was 200 meters away but by luck I got him in the back of the head and he dropped like a bag of spuds.
Must remember to tell this story next bike sale.
