Your not to large for a 300 Dude. Go test ride one first. You will be surprise.

Go a 300 Dude and spring it to suit your size (Sherco, Beta, Fantic/Gas Gas and TM all make a solid 300 that isn’t orange). You could throw a 300 around like a bmx. But if you did go a 450 I reckon the Beta 480 looks nice and Beta are well priced. Don’t know when the Sherco 450 hits the stores but it would be worth a look as well. Both brands are growing and offer a great alternative to the common orange trail bike. Picking a new bike sounds like a good problem to have. Cheers

I would go WR 450 for reliability if you want a 450. Any of the current 300 2T crop. Check out the latest ADB for the comparison that the KTM won by a whisker. Worth a look at the price for common spare parts. All I can say is wow. If you had to buy a complete bike at parts prices they would have to be delivered by armed guards.
The sherco is incredible with the map switch. I have heard that fuel injection will be coming soon for 2T300’s which will de value carb bikes regardless of the advantages. Worth a ride on the 300s though as I’m sure they would surprise you. Hope this helps :)

As others have said Dude, you are not too big. Menace is a larger guy (or used to be, haven’t seen him for a while) and he rode a 300. Sort the suspenders out to suit and you won’t now yourself, not much stops you now so a light weight 2 stroke and you will be unstoppable.

Go sherco I seen a 300 get throw away a coupe of times on the weekend and not even the lost engine mount bolt stoped it. Glad it wasn’t mine.

I think you would be surprised by a 2 stroke, there is a level of excitement you can compare with that moment just before ejackulation. But it lasts all ride long.

I got 18000ks of abuse and neglect from my old WR never broke down once and sold it for $5500 not sure about fuel injection though, any of the 450s are good if you have mate with a Yamaha to tow you home

    Hey Dude

The choices are endless , being an elderly rider I have ridden and owned many endure bikes over the past 10 years . My favorite was my 2011 KTM 400 exc , it was I believe the perfect capacity with more than enough power without beating you up on a long ride .
After the sale of the KTM I have since owned a TM 450 , Beta 300 & now have gone back to a 4 stroke in a Beta 390 rr which Is very much like the old KTM 400 with a very smooth and usable engine but as with most bikes the suspension will need to be sorted to suit your weight ( hope this helps )

    Dude!

I had a KTM 300 2t, I’m well……… let’s just say im a KTM 640 riding a 300  I had some heavier springs fitted, but never tuned like it should have been with lalves and sag. It was before I found forums .

I never got to ride in the hills, but in the single trail along the river here was a blast.

But as everyone advises ride as many models as you can. So if you can con your mates to take their pride n joy for a decent ride in the places you ride most, you will find the one you like the most.
