Caught up with Kwakas before we drove up the hill.
Didn’t realise it was him until I drove past and saw the Sherco on the back and big TM stickers on the window. Sorry Michael, my brain is getting slower. He was not on our riders list but you are always welcome to join in with antics :woohoo:
A bit cool to start with but it didn’t take long to warm up in the singles
Did all the singles heading towards the Basin and did our little detour before dropping down the steep downhill to the Basin Creek, where we rested and chatted for a while.
From here on it starts to get a little more serious and great fun was had with carnage and flips (mostly from our stuntman for the day, Jesse) :woohoo: 👿 👿 :woohoo:
Stuntman Jesse managed to stick with us through quite a few more hills and single crap, until Mick lost a joining link from his chain. Dude and Michael had spare links but none of them fitted properly. It was agreed that Mick take the open tracks back to the car and Jesse was pretty quick to make sure he made it safely (damn good chance to jump off the ride, Jesse)
:silly:
Then there was three :S
We continued on our merry way, down Expert Hill and around the Koala Trail. Some fun was had coming out of that trail 👿 :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
More singles around to Bar Hill. Michael checked out the detour/chicken track but it has been smashed so it was only a couple of minutes before we heard him coming back.
This meant we all had to continue up the Bar. :woohoo: :woohoo:
I went first and managed to get through with a couple of misshaps
Michael had a good run. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Dude had a bit of a brain snap and threw his new Husky across the rocks
All was good and I don’t think he did too much damage
But it didn’t look too pretty  :pinch:
After we topped out we came down a nasty steep decent and then called it quits as the sun was getting lower.
Very fast trip back to cars on open shit
P.S. Mick also had some dramas with a hole in his clutch cover, but Dude came to the rescue with some Metal Filler. Mick was heard saying that “the curse continues” :pinch:
Great ride
Good blokes
Maybe some pics later
Cheers

Nice day for a ride.
It was a tough, relentless series of hills. like the start it’s bush tunnels and rutts but then it rocks, rocks, rocks and steep terrain, marsupial way was mad slippery rocks with some pushing , the pace was on and was having a good time then hmmm bar hill with no way around, this is hard because the lines had changed and it was harder, stuffed up cause I didn’t get the speed I wanted (note to self…. move loose rock on your run up line) I was caught half way up this massive 200 ft step :woohoo:  maybe 4 ft anyway I gunned the bike then she was gone . she left with me as I crashed back down the step, the bike was up so all good
I was a spent unit and it was getting on and I had had enough. Thanks for leading Murph and thanks to the guys who turned up and made it into a bit of an event. 😆
July 16, 2015 at 8:58 pm #262328Awesome report as usual boys. Thanks for sharing.
