Well folks this weekend its on a condobalin, yellow mountain cross country is on for another year and for the first time I’ve throwen my hat in the ring.

Cheers RookieJuly 30, 2015 at 3:13 am #262407Looks like a big weekend have a good one.
July 30, 2015 at 4:02 am #262414Done a few of them great event, I actually qualified in 20th place out of 200 in 2005 on an XR600!! I think it was. Awesome starting at the front. Pace yourself, ride the same speed all day, watch the fence jumps and make sure you walk the road crossings
Great event have fun

July 30, 2015 at 7:49 am #262415if you see a crowd of people along the track take note there could be a rough section coming there waiting for the stacks so be ready enjoy the race and as TB said pace yourself also set your gearing up for some fast straights but don t overdue it there is tight stuff aswell and whoops
July 30, 2015 at 10:41 am #262408I’ll be giving it a go for the first time, excited. #308
August 4, 2015 at 1:00 am #262420so .. I survived one way … but spent day 2 in Dubbo hospital after a injury in prologue got the better of me. Keen to go back but its a bloody good ride. Pictures to come.
August 4, 2015 at 4:02 am #262453No good but at least you had fun on day 1. How many k’s and how long did day one take roughly?
August 4, 2015 at 8:02 am #262409It’s definitely a fun race…very high speeds.140 – 170 ks an hour depending on your gearing and the size of your goolies….220k each day. How were you placed after day 1.?
August 4, 2015 at 10:59 am #262410Was a well organized event and everyone was friendly. Was definately 4stroke country as there was only about 6 of us 2strokes out of 230 bikes. I qualified 120, finished day 1 at 106 and day 2 at 84 so made my goal of making top 100. Is a great race except for the dust, racing thru the bush at 140kmh not being able to see is a bit scary.
August 4, 2015 at 7:19 pm #262458I started 222nd and faught with bent triple clamps, a busted leg and a rear tyre literally letting go 20kms from the finish to get up to 101st after day one in 3hr 27minutes.
Big learning curve but keen as keen gets to go back, I ran 14-48 gearing on my 300 and can happily say had no one pass me on the straights. Then again I held the poor thing flat 180km/h on some road sections
that’s definatly a rush I have to sayAugust 4, 2015 at 9:10 pm #262461Ya’s can have that all to yourselves
I’ll stick to singles, rocks and hills
Good onya’s for giving it a go. :woohoo:
Sorry to hear about your leg, Rookie
Cheers

August 6, 2015 at 9:21 am #262470Well Murph between the 180km/h sections there was singles, rocks, hills, mud bogs and what ever else you can think of !
hahaha i was pissed off and really didnt care if i blew the poor 300 up. it was screaming for km’s on end tapped in 6th
now some pictures
here she is, all shiny and clean before the big race ….
but at the end of the race things weren’t so pretty, hard day in the office indeed
Rode 220km’s, 180km/h on bent tripple clamps. Can’t say i didn’t give it a go
THEN THERE WAS THIS !
I still haven’t been able to rub one out
Busted leg, bent triple clamps … still managed to get one good picture in
So 5 days on and here’s the bruising on the leg .. Thankyou guys for doing that bulk buy on knee braces many moons ago. if it wasn’t for them i’d be looking for a new knee and waiting for a femur to mend.
After all this but … im keen as bloody hell to go back
December 22, 2015 at 2:31 am #262486great race.
im hoping to convince the wife 2016 is a good idea.
a bit sketchy about doing it on my 300exc though, a bit twitchy @ 100mph  .
managed 19th outright in 2011 on my crf450x -
