    Hey Chicken,
Can you, off the top of your head remember whet size main jet, you are running in your Mikuni?
I am currently running the 210 main. The bike seems to be pinging a bit if you labour it though and I was thinking I might change the main to see what happens.
Is your bike 600cc or 630??
    Cheers
    Mick

G’day Mick, the answers are XR600 and all I did was bolt it on straight out of the box, it seems pretty happy at that I am sorry I can’t even tell you what size is in the carby to start with, (never checked) But I did notice when I was towing Crash out of the Watagans, with all the stop starting we did she soots up(RUNNING RICH) if your not up the old girl. I still have the 210 and 220 in the tool box. Give it bash.

Thanks mate, I might go back to the one that came fitted in it then (200) as i have the 210 in now ( I cant help myself, I have to muck around with stuff).
As you said it starts easy and there is no bog after jumping, so I am happy,It didn’t even stall when I hit the cow ,so that is a PLUS!!!
Just the funny pinging/rattle when it labours has got me concerned as it wasn’t doing that before the new carby was fitted.
Plus we just fitted my old stock carby to my brothers XR and she is running sweet,no erratic idle so all is good. The whole exercise has been worth it. Thanks for your input
    Cheers

Does the Mikuni carb make that much difference to a near stock XR600? or is it more for a bike with some work done to it?

Chicken’s ol 600 is stock as a rock (sorry bar a staintune pipe) and as done over 45,000kms for a clutch being fitted. He fitted a flat side Mikuni after he was given the bike for peanuts
He raved about the difference as did Mick, stock is fine as is modified I reckon

Bummer…….you need to get out more mate. If you don’t move the XR soon you will have to get an environmental impact statement when you do.
